The ad is un-needed spell vamp is only good for laning, and it doesnt slow on every spell. With runes and masteries you have all the ad you need. You don't need extra ad, and the active on gunblade isn't good late game. Basically gunblade is 5 less ap and some spell vamp. I mean you can get a revolver or sheen before you finish rylais but akali is a pretty good laner and shouldn't relly be having trouble if she's using her shroud and harass properly.

Gunblade offers 60ad, 75ap, a 300 damage slow, 20% lifesteal, 45% spell vamp, and for the stats, it's SUPER cheap.

Gunblade FAR outweighs Rylai's for Akali, but you should go Gunblade->Lich Bane->Deathcap->Rylai's if you're going to build a Rylai's.

the gunblade has parts though... I like the idea of the rylai's on akali, i'm just saying for the gunblade example, there are the two halves of the gunblade that you can get to help your laning phase. in the early game, you only get to go back once or twice, and you want the items you come bcak with to dramatically improve your character so you can gank, defend, or push on you're return, but you don't get as much gold in this early part of the game. the revolver gives ap plus passive, and for a relatively low price. so it can be held onto for a while and it helps you stay in the lane longer due to spell vamp. the pieces of rylai's are all independant and can't be used well individually. plus it is expensive so you don't get the slow and other things unless you can get the gold for them, which you need farming power to do. you need a good item to help you farm. i say get sheen first cuz it synergizes with your skills well, and lets you farm better, without the extra cash. with the better farm you can get the rylai's faster as well. I hope that makes sense.

Agree with good hands over preservation, 2 lazy to change it. I'm afraid I don't understand what you mean by too expensive for early game though. Sure you can grab a hextech revolver on your first back but rylai's is the corest of core items on akali and i like to get it asap.

I'm actually going to agree with Album here, Rylai's is too expensive early game, especially before finished boots. I might suggest tweaking it so that you get sheen, then boots, then rylai's before Lich and the rest of your build so that you don't have to wait so long for your items. especially due to the cheapness and harrassing potential of sheen. also, and this is personal preferance on akali, good hands over perseverance every time.other than that, very descriptive and well written build.

You see it's actually the other way around :P. It's not that gunblade is a bad item on Akali it's just that it its too expensive for what it does for her. Rylais offers health, plenty of ap for lichbane, and a slow on all skills.

gunblade is almost a must on akali. Ryalais is too expensive that early in my opinion.
