No they aren't.

Kat can't counter Akali.

...kat is a hard counter to akali, if the players are of the same skill, kat beats akali almost every single time. And on will build pure ap early game, and if they do, they are ******ed. i am still playing ad kat lvl 1-7 and then transition into hybrid and then full ap kat. at lvl 7, w q from akali does around 2-300 damage to akali. and since u max q first, ad kat will dominate the lane. the only reason you make it seem like her q doesnt do anything is because u are playing against an ap kat and not ad kat (which i believe is almost over powered early game, but meh late)

Really nice and detailed guide you got there! Tiny thing that got me suprised is no akali v akali section, but practically every other champion that goes mid. ^^

Some things though, in masteries there's 2 points for 4 extra minion damage, and not extra 1,33% crit. Both are practically useless, but with your second passive activating minion damage is no problem (so the mastery is useless).

Also since this is already a very good guide and maybe looking to be better, maybe include a section of gankers/junglers?

I've had some great fun with akali scoring double kills when they tried to gank.
For example, shroud near a bush, one of them will stand in the bush to catch you, and the other will stand at the other side to prevent you from escaping. Bursting down the one near the bush gives you advantage over the one at the outer end. If all fails and they both come at the bush, you can always flash down to your tower and kill them there.

Anyway, +1.

pretty sure this is the exact same as the top guide on this site, save for the 2 points in faster minion killing and the obvious "Get some health pots"

Actually, it's the exact same "build" as the other one. But this is a guide, not a only a build. Plus, the you obviously haven't read the Item section of this "guide". Because if you would've, you would've seen that I have two builds in this "guide".

Shade's a friend of mine and I've seen his Akali. This build works, trust me. He almost always carries us with Akali without letting our actual carry do it. It's quite entertaining to watch.

Really good build. I like your comments and bought akali because of this build :3. Akali's a really strong champion right now and with this build you will easily be able to carry your games. Never taught that akali mid would be that devastating :p.

I see your point on the runes, but I actually find it useful to have Greater Glyph of Ability Power runes because I have actually gotten First Blood at level one numerous of times because of the active passive Twin Disciplines. Also, that extra magic damage does so much at level one when you use it once on an enemy they instantly fear you when you throw your kama at them dominating your lane.

Hum, I guess that makes sense. But I honestly think it doesn't make a difference. You probably do around 20 more damage at level 1 with Flat AP runes with a mark activation. You can still get FB very easily at level 1-3 if your enemies are dumb enough to try to straight up fight you.

P.S.: Akali is not an angel... --

If you don't think this build is optimal, please tell me why instead of just saying it's barely decent.

But to each his own. I'll add Flat AP in the runes section.

I find that the difference between a level 1 passive and a level 3 passive is almost non existent. I don't like having runes that won't do nothing 5 minutes into the game.

And for the health runes, it may not help much but it's better then nothing. That extra 200 health helped me get a kill and not die A LOT of times. A dead Akali can't kill nobody.

Plus this build focused more on raw damage then anything. If you hit a carry for about three seconds, they're usually going down.

But thanks for the feedback, really appreciate it!

pretty good, but you might want to change 3 of glymps to flat ap so you can the second passive at level 1, and leave the rest at lvl Ap.

The extra 200 health doesnt really help at all late game, because your job is just to kill the carry or die trying. And If you fail, you will almost certainly die
