No, your best bet for Genie would be Malzahar.

Nice guide, my problem with Brand has always been that he is not a genie.

Yeah very true in that fact, but I like early Tear also to stack it up early, so that when you get Archangel's Staff its got a lot of bonus mana. And I could calculate the exact amount for Runes, but I want this guide to be usable by casual players as well as more intensive players, which I presume is what you and I are. And yeah, I may run double Ring in the guide eventually, I do it sometimes in my games, I'm still play testing it however.

If you're just looking to kill the caster wave at level 4, you could always just take two ranks in (E). What I was actually asking is if you find the additional ~1.5-~18 AP at levels 7-18 to be worth the sacrifice of an extra ~7.2-1.2 AP at levels 1-6.

To maximize damage against champions, you would ideally find out exactly how much AP you need at level 5 to kill the casters, then fill everything else out with more magic pen. You could free up more runespace by gettign a second doran's ring (to cover both ability power and mana regen) before your tear.

Okay I took this into consideration, and crunched the numbers for you.
Minion:295 hp, 0 MR. Pillar of Flame, 125(.60 AP ratio). Sear, 70(.55 ratio) Blaze, 5.6/tick. Lvl 4, 37 AP.

295 - (125+(37*.60) - (70+(37*55) - (7*5.6)
295 - (147.2) - (90.35) - (39.2)
295 - 276.75
= 18.25

Using Glyph of Potency would add a total of 3 ability power vs Glyph of Force, which would equate to roughly 1.6 more damage.

The way I saw it was either way you do it, you won't really be able to drop the caster wave til lvl 5 anyways, (I have not calculated to see if potency will do it at lvl 4, but I don't think it will) so taking the Glyphs of Force will give you more AP in the long run. I will however look into the matter of a lvl 4 kill for the casters.
