I see irelia as being her strongest late game, this is true. Naturally that means her early game is not as strong as it could be, thus I invest in early game, non scaling runes.

On a serious side i would question your Runes merrick irelia is Strong with items. she can cs all day and has amazing stun next to turret and escape So i see no point in going Early game for Blues Quints and Reds As Armor Pen is beter Early Mid And Late as Irelia Is A late game Champion. Just somthing you could think about.
