If I just go with a Will of Ancients then im getting nothing to make my Q more powerful and a team just has to get a little MR to counter me completely if i were to use your build. I seems to do just fine getting a lot of in lane kills with this build as well... And how are my runes "wonky" if the only different is that you went with Health Quints over my Movement Speed Quints? Is everyone on Mobafire so judgmental and not willing to try anything outside the box?
No, MS quints are just bad on Mordekasier, they don't give him more than 15 ap or more defensive rune choices like armor or MR.
If you are playing against people that let you kill them in lane, there is a problem.
You ARE NOT going to burst someone down in lane if they have half a brain.
Ignite is an inferior summoner spell to flash or ghost for mordekaiser.
Also, Gunblade adds magic damage to your Q.
MR actually counters you harder, because you have a MUCH more expensive item which doesn't give you equivilent damage/gold.
You are basically wasting 1000g or so by building gunblade over Will of the Ancients.
I've played a lot of games with Mordekaiser, and I've tried it all.
Some rune choices/mastery choices simply aren't effective.
Gotta lose the ignite, you're not getting any kills in lane with this build.
I recommend heal or flash.
Your masteries are wonky.
If you're going to get a mastery other than Havoc on an AP champion, make it 2/2 Butchery and 1/3 Brute Force for last hitting.
Also, i HIGHLY recommend 21/9/0 over 21/0/9 if you are going to go deep offense.
Your runes are wonky.
If you're going to go offensive with runes, use these:

I recommend NOT building gunblade, and instead building a Will of the Ancients.

warmogs + atmas isn't something morde can use there are far better tanky items for him
There are a million ways to play Morde. I never said I was building him as a tank and the sustain AD damage actually proves viable in fights. The extra damage added from the Atma's empowers the Q making it far more powerful then if i were to just get a Lich Bane. The armor is more the welcome to empower the passive and the random crit chance is just a wild card. This Morde build is a hybrid design not a off tank.
Sometimes having an open mind and considering different item for a champ is a good thing. Just try out the build, its a fun build that sure it has room for expansion but if you want a hybrid morde, this is a good build to go with.
