If you were going to abandon the meta game, and take a team with no AD carry, how would you set up your comp?
Would you run Assassins? Offtanks/Bruiser/TankyDPS? Double AP? Kill lane bot? 1v2 bot 2v1 top?
How would you challenge the meta game if you took the AD carry role out of the equation?

Okay, well Tanky DPS was invented to be the counter to AoE comps

If an Akali builds Warmogs, she loses out on damage. If Shen builds warmogs, he gains damage.
Offtank > Assassin
Tank DPS meta came about as a direct counter to AoE meta. When AoE meta died, so did tanky DPS. Dunno how else to explain this.
Then again, I would rather be a part of a full Tanky DPS team before AoE. AoE takes too much coordination that too many people lack.
Every ranked game I have ended up picking last and actually used Support/Tank like my team wanted, we lost.
So stop. I will not support pug matches. If they send me bot, I take all the CS.
Try that 'all gap closers' against a completely AoE team.

Tanky DPS 1v1 champions with gap closers is like the perfect answer to AoE comps.
I can agree with 'all damage' though. Then again, there are quite a few tanks that deal plenty of damage. You need CC, not a tank. People don't focus the tank anyway. Alistar can do a lot of everything. He can target one person, AoE everybody, heal is allies, take insane amounts of damage without defensive items, and still deal a lot of damage.
I think, if there ever is a new meta, it will be a team full of champions that have CC and can deal good damage while being able to take plenty. It doesn't seem to have a solid counter. Yes there are solid counters to specific champions, but most people don't take into account that your team can be countered too when talking about counter-picks.

I don't agree with any of the above points. A good melee with a gap closer will zone and usually kill a carry even at 200 minutes, it doesn't matter.
Depending on the champion, you will know what he's capable of. Some champs can't gank early, some can, a good laner will know the difference and adapt his style accordingly. A player familiar with the boundaries of his/her champion will react accordingly to ganks and whatnot.
Sometimes you will get caught out and die, but that doesn't mean you misplay your champion "Just in case." You have to at least try to play correctly and passively farm it out if you fall behind after the fact.
Playing aggressively from the start is not always playing risky. Sometimes it's the intelligent and necessary play. With Assassins, and a number of other champs like Tryndamere and whatnot, you should play aggressive every game, and only passively farm if you fall behind.
Why not go with Jax? Because Jax is a ****ing joke, he socks. yet, when you have a team with 4-5 gap closers, you are horribly over estimating the AD carry's ability to stay alive. She's dead. 100% dead.
3 solo lanes forfeits lane presence, which is what you are trying to gain by roaming = dumb.
Top mid and jungle will always care about getting denied. And yes, you can almost always deny a top lane with an aggressive Assassin or Tryndamere. If they play super ***** and just farm it will only exaggerate how far they fall behind against a super aggressive player.

I don't believe in meta-games. There is one, the real issue is that there should -not- be one. I'm not talking about changing a meta game, could give a **** less what the community thinks is the Bee's knee's, but instead I'm talking about a new kind of comp that you don't see yet.
You don't need a central tank for this comp and you don't even want one to be honest.
You want everyone to deal damage, and tanks generally fail at that.
I also only -slightly- agree with high risk high reward. The thing is, a lot of time it's not risky to make the big high impact plays, as long as your team isn't wandering around with their ****s in their hands. I do agree that you want t make big plays. But a high risk move is going for a tower dive with no vision of enemy jungle or something, and that may not be the wisest decision.

Couldn't I build Warmogg's too? If they all build pretty tanky then there's nothing stopping my team from doing so.
An assassin like Akali deals plenty of damage with just a 2-3 damage items, while an AP carry or an AD carry does not deal as much. Assassin wins in those situations.
10,000,000% wrong. Never exclude a champion type for a simple reason like, "They could build tanky" because it just makes no sense to limit yourself. That's what we're doing too, is building pretty tanky. We can react to items, but they can't have their "AD carry based team comp" change after they're locked into it. With 4-5 gap closers on bruisers and Assassins, that AD carry is just a dead piece of meat. Dead upon arrival to the fight.
We are replacing the AD carry role with assassins and leaving a tanky line of damage dealers with gap closers in the place of tanks, because there's NOTHING to protect. **** a tank, we're going to war. The whole team goes in. Nobody plays ***** and stays back.
What does that really accomplish though? Your comp is 100% magic damage, and Shaco's damage is useless if we buy an oracles.
If we buy an Aegis and everyone gets Merc treads and some other MR like Abyssal and a touch of HP, your comp will 100% lose. :P HP and MR just dunks that very low damage output comp too hard.
Well if you add more squishy champs, I say just add more Assassins. Akali mid to beat Cho'Gath 1v1, Galio top lane to clear waves and play passively. Later in fights he will provide an excellent snag to endanger opposing squishy double carry.
Any number of gap closer junglers... Lee Sin, Xin, etc. They will dive one of the carries mid fight and either kill them or zone them.
On that comp, it's up to Cho and Alistar to disable, peel, and generally safeguard their carry champions. That will only work against teams who only have a certain number of threats. Also, that comp is -very- weak mid game. It can work late, but it's awful until late, and if played improperly it will still fail :P

Well yes but that way the opposing team would have to give up it's damage to buy all the items needed. Nah Shaco would be just fine assuming that he can ambush from walls. Even if someone has an oracle it will be too late for him/her to react when shaco jumps right next to them from a wall. In case Shaco gets useless that's where Rammus and Vladimir come in. They simply focus on the player who carries the oracle and kill him. If that player is a tank then Galio can jump in too. Taunt + Taunt + Slow and massive damage from Vladimir [despite all his nerfs] the tank would fall for sure. And hell, Shaco isn't so useless when someone has an oracle, i mean...he could still deal tons of damage in a teamfight with his ulti XD
Completely off-meta, my brother and I duo-que, ignore everybody else, go bottom with Mundo and Mordekaiser, win. It's always extremely easy.
We both start with
It just seems way too easy. We never have to rely on anybody else, never leave our lane. Often we end up 2v5 because the rest of our team is no threat in comparison.
Ok, back on topic, I think I would play something as such:
Top - Yorick
Mid - Mordekaiser
Bot - Mundo/Alistar
Jungle - Cho'Gath
All deal significant damage while taking insane amounts of it.
Now if we are just talking about beefy AP:
Swain, Mordekaiser, Vladimir, Alistar, Cho'Gath
Yeah, pretty funny. >:P
It's super important to get your skill rotations off though.
I once lost a game as 12-2 morde because my build was 4x Gunblade + GA.
The enemy soraka+cho silenced me long enough that her team could kill me >_>.
