Many players think that Hexdrinker is a waste of gold. I would like to know what these players think about the Maw of Malmortius, Hexdrinker's upgrade:
Maw of Malmortius - Item Cost 3300 - Recipe Cost 925 - Requires: Hexdrinker + Pickaxe - +55 Attack Damage +36 Magic Resist UNIQUE Passive: If you would take magic damagethat would leave you at less than 30% Health, you first gain a shield that absorbs 400 magic damage for 5 seconds (60 second cooldown). UNIQUE Passive: +1 Attack Damage for every 2.5% of your Maximum Health that is missing.
P.S. This item will be perfect for Olaf and Tryndamere

Hexdrinker currently builds out of two longswords. In the new recipe, it builds out of one, like I just said two posts above. Hex is getting a stat and price reduction. You're using numbers that won't be accurate when the patch goes live, which is why it seems that you aren't getting as much AD as you should.
It has nothing to do with the passive.
thanks,
I really need to pay better attention to these things...(oh well we all have our dumb moments i guess)
I was about to ask why you only get 55 ad from MofM when the Hexdrinker + Pickaxe = 60 ad then I did the math on the 2nd passive and it makes sense why. Mostly im just posting this to make sure im doing my math correctly.

It's a little like Warden's Mail -> Randuin's Omen. The first is used for counter-building, while the second gives a great late game. I'm really happy Riot is buffing this niche item into something that could be used more regularly.
Lets hope some other similar items get similar treatment.
And i dont wanna see trynd or olaf using MofM(maw of....) late game,oh god i think its better nerf Irelia!!!
if this item is really gonna be released, i'd like to give it a try
Second I already love Hexdrinker as ad melee when fighting AP heavy teams/ playing ad mid. so I would love to have something else to upgrade it too in order to not have to bother with selling latter and buying something else.
overall both are/look like very good items, and are underused but, that makes sense as in general situational items are often under used by the masses.
and yes it would be amazing for Olaf
