as I state in the items section, I sell the haunting guise in order to finish rabadons, giving you a very potent mid game, relying on your team to win the late game if necessary. I tend to not get the hextech early, because I prefer to rely on keeping opponents low, rather than healing with spell vamp.

nice Katharina guide, I play her too and totally agree with your Masteries and Skill Sequence.
But I have some recommendations regarding your items you buy. Think of them maybe they help you ;)

• After Sorcerer Shoes I would prefer buying a Hextech Revolver. Besides the bit AP it gives, you will have a much higher sustainability and farming the Wraith and Wolf Camp is no longer a problem. Combined with your ult you get a much higher teamfight strength
• Next, you decide for a Haunting Guise which may be a good choice early game as it provides MR, life and AP, but is weak late-game because it is a Tier 2 item and you can not upgrade it. A Rylais might be an idea as it gives a lot of life and provides a similar deffensive aspect as Haunting Guise, and ,moreover, gives you CC which is especially for Katharina a must have. Otherwise you Q+E+W+R and the opponent can run away with a half bar of life and you just won't get him.
