AD-Sona works quite well, if u play her right. The only problem is, if u have a ****-support and lose the bot-lane, some stupid players give u the fault and start trolling u and steal ur kills. First game with her 5/1/3, second one 1/7/6, because of the things mentioned in the top. But:

OK first of all this is a great guide, but have you thought that teams might not think your trolling with ad sona but because you also have promote?

im curious why you went ad sona since this seems to be based on power cord, but that damage is magical, it seems much more sense to go ap carry sona, i have tried this build and a general ap carry build (rabs, rcs, archangel staff, i planned on getting lich, but the few games i have played i never got to it) and i think a ap carry build had a much better damage output, that comboed with the increase heal to help with sustain made it much better, granted i only played a few games with each build, less than 5 each. but i understand voting should be completely depended on the build in question, not comparing it to another build.

anyways downvoting the build because i think you should skip crit and just go for pure ad damage, because power cords main damage isnt proc by crit, the basic attack you do is. i would skip y's ghostblade and put in a maw, that would also add in some defense. the pd can be kept, but i would probably opt for another bt or black cleaver, or just plan on having triforce in teh main build, or going a defensive item.

as for summoner spells, i would switch in flash for promote because you really need the defensive applications because of the squishiness of being a carry, plus it can be used offensively. i would switch clarity for tp. tp gives you a chance to regain mana by going back to town plus you can buy, plus it doesnt fall off late game like clarity does. but really i would just manage mana better and skip both and go for an offensive spell.

This is a really good build...I tried it and had a blast :) Bought the Arcade Sona skin to show how excited I was. Played 6 matches today with this build; Early game team loves the heals and buffs, mid-late game, your damage is up there with the AD carrys. +1.

The spirit in this guide has worked fine for me, not with the same items/runes/masteries, but its the same logic, being bursty, pushy and adding a new source of AD to the team, you just need to play her in the aggresive way its meant to be played to take those uggly turrets down in no time hehe.

This works doodz, i build sone like this but using gold runes and masteries in order to be less kill/css dependant, i have even used it in solo ranked with good outcomes, however and just as the autor says: its a different way to use Sona, not just a different way to build her, so you cant try to play passively with her, you need to be really agressive and if you do that you can make the enemys feel really annoyed.

This build leaves you very squishy early game and messes you up for late game

K, so I tried to play Sona mid, solo top and of course as support. Tried AP, AD, etc.

But:

What you got here is a Sona that is completely glasscanon. If I like promote I wouldn't be able to Flash. YOu got close to 0 magic resistance and below 2k health, means any character can kill you within seconds.

The only reason someone would want to play Sona ad is her 20 AD buff. You say Power Chord can critically strike? No, it can't. Yes, your attack can but no as the damage is a magic damage on hit effect it won't crit.

But even worse: While you got 0 defenses, your damage output is bad at the same time. There is some AD but not even 250 reached. There is some crit chance but not even a Infinity Edge to utilize it. Sustain? Defenses? Nothing at all. Just on hit effect damage easly countered by magic resistance.

AD Sona? Deffo fun to play in pub stomping but with this build? No that's not even trolling
