I don't get this you should only have early mana regen problems ********. Mana Regeneration per level runes are really potent and allow you to replace mana items if you so desire, you can then go full ap or whatever else you want. People who use 1.4 flat MReg for "a little" early game ignore the fact that a scaling Mana Regeneration page can give you 15-30 MReg at 18 (combine that with a chalice...).
I thing especially Greater Quintessence of Scaling Mana Regeneration are hugely underestimated.

You mean a lot of the time they are worse than flat. Because champions who have mana problems have them early game. I downvoted that featured guest Lulu guide because he used scaling mana regen blues.

Well considering you shouldn't be using your abilities that early anyways because they do maybe 2x as much damage as an auto and cost 1/4 of your mana bar, sometimes I like to take scaling. I use both, but it depends on the champion. It's not like mana problems dissapear late game. Unless you have blue, mana regen is pretty nice. Lux, xerath, nidalee, anyone with poke benefits from scaling yellows. Scaling blues on the other hand, which I don't think have anything to do with this, aren't all that good.

I tried both flat mana regen seals and scaling mana regen seals numerous times, and I just feel that scaling mana regen will help you much more mid game/late game and partially early game.

My friend never dies as shaco... I envy him.
If he doesn't carry, I am :) Haven't seen him in a while though so I'm sad.

Frankly my first instinct is 'holy **** you're gonna get zoned and die because you have no defense anywhere'.

And scaling mana regen yellows suck.

Shaco AP seems to be extremely powerful. That Vayne on the video died way TOO FAST. Also, I would recommend you getting Lich Bane. It will drastically inscrease your burst and works really well with Deceive.

Lich Bane works fine on AP Shaco but I just personally prefer staying far away from the enemies for as long as possible, and if you use your Deceive as a damage burst for Lich Bane proc you will instantly lose your escape if anything goes wrong. Don't get me wrong, it works fine but I just personally prefer not to get it because it doesn't suit my playstyle ^^
