I love your idea's Janitsu, but obviously me and you have very two different play styles. Both of us will say that "I'm better with him" but I do not care. I made this guide a very long time ago about when i became level 30. And once i got to level 30 i didn't go right into ranked. In my build i even state that malzahar is far from my favorite mid laner now. He is very fun, but I feel as though i am better with veigar and syndra, i also believe they are better for teams. I main top and support now and i can admit that. So if you want to waste your breath on saying your build is better by all means. When i mained malzahar i played normals mostly, ranked is not everything. Its just another mode that people take too serious and is still JUST A GAME. Even though you were ****downvoting me, I will give you some actual criticism.

• Your runes offer you NO armor or magic resist, meaning that any decent mid will poke you down in no time
• Spellthief's Edge is a bad item on Malzahar due to the fact that it doesn't upgrade into anything, and Malzahar is ultimate farmer after lvl 5. You will constantly hit enemy champions, but you will only proc this like once every wave, making it really worse starting than Doran's Blade or Faerie Charm
• You are missing some great items. Morellonomicon, Athene's Unholy Grail, Archangel's Staff etc.
• Greater Vision Totem sucks compared to Greater Stealth Totem.
• You don't level Q and W at the same time. If you max Q after E, you will have more burst damage, meanining you don't need your ultimate everytime you want to kill someone. If you max W after E, you will have more sustained damage, meaning they have to stay still for it to be effective
• Feast > Dangerous Game
• Why would you link lolwiki for someone who is unfamiliar with Malzahar? It won't help anyone anyhow because it's a ******* wiki
• You said you'll go mid and go as Malzahar when you want to win. You have 8 games played as him. I guess you don't want to win in that case.
• You use far too many colors, but no coding for structure
• Your structure and explanations are rather bad
• You don't explain why CDR is a bad stat. It allows you to: 1. Ult more often 2. Use your abilities more often, meaning you deal more damage and have more voidlings 3. It allows you to use your Call of the Void in to a bush to see if someone is there, more often

No, you don't do that. You have their own sections for them instead of one general section where everything is explained poorly.

The idea for the entire build is to be able to take some more abuse in a fight while still giving your team a good amount of utility. Malzahars main weapon is his ult, i think we all can agree, but if we add in slows and massive DoT with the Liandiries and Ryalies. As far as rod making you weak in early game, that is factored in. Which is why i say to get a lot of AP from runes and masteries. This way you can afford to have that. I think especially for this season with the more ap from the supports, this build can excel. Giving your team even more cc and survivability. I will be doing major renovations soon. And i love the frostfang idea and will probably go for it cause its seems like a very cost efficient way to build.

You are gonna want void staff a lot more than liandry/rylai/rod. Void staff pretty much already outdmgs rabaedon at around 80 mr, which is very easily achieved even on squishies with locket being a popular item right now. Rod makes you weak early because it takes time to build up that's why usually people don't get it or if they do they usually do not get rylais. I would say to either remove either the rod, rylai, or liandry or whatever choice you feel like.

You should add Frostfang and Spellthief Blade into your guide as starting items. They help generate extra gold and are the same as having double doran's ring. I was able to go 7/2/6 with 286 CS and 16.3k gold in a 35 minute game. Compared with my fiora who went 15/6/6 with 154 cs and also had 16.3k gold. So the extra gold you make from these two gold generating items really help get more gold faster. It's not uncommon to have a full build by the 35-40 minute mark now with these new gold items.

Yeah i quite like your idea of how to build malzahar and i will use it for sure ^^
and also funny how not many people read this guide as it is in fact very useful, I think you need to add some sort of pictures or videos to make it look more presentable as people just tend to skip to find something entertaining or other stuff etc.
