So yeah, I finally got to upgrade my gaming rig (or at least give it a massive visual update)! :-)
My full setup looks like this now:
Sadly I'm missing one molex adapter so the 3 fans (+leds) on the front/side don't work yet, but that's about it. I'm really happy with the looks of it right now.

I really got fed up with my old Antec Nine Hundred case which not only looked kinda ugly, it also made a lot of noise. Replaced it with a Corsair Carbide 500R which looks astonishing if you ask me. It also definitely makes a bit less noise which is great because I'm not only using this as a gaming PC but also as a workstation.
Besides that, I fit a Semi Modular and 80+ Gold certified power supply for better cable management and efficiency. With 650W of total power this thing sucks up your whole power bill so having this new thing in hopefully pays back soon. Finally I mounted an SSD to make boot and loading times acceptable again. For only 100€ you get 240GB SSD's right now which is super cheap, so if you were considering to get one yourself I'd really go for it. The performance increase is massive for that price. |

You don't see much of an increase in FPS since it's primarily an upgrade for the system as workstation, hence I only added the new case, power supply and solid state drive.
You do however see a MASSIVE increase in boot speeds (from a few minutes to ~20 seconds), loading times (loading up a game like Rome II only takes about 1/3rds of the time it used to) and install times (pretty much nonexistent). On that note, I could run LOL at pretty much 100+ FPS all the time and that hasn't changed, and run nearly all other games maxed out at 30-60 fps.
Also, just fixed the fans. I love the look of it right now!
