Summary

This build works off of jax's most dangerous and deadly ability, his counter strike. This is highly disregarded among most jax builds instead i see the most common ability to be maxed first is his leap strike. even tho i don't max it first i do keep this "up to speed " making sure its cool down is low enough so the ability is always ready for his deadliest combo. I also take advantage of his relentlessness assault and match it with guisoo's rage blade for maximum atack speed (as most do). I would highly recomend watching my jax video because if you use jax as your primary champion it will show you some great tips and tricks. On a side note i am only a level 12 so the spells i have chosen are the best i have used in classic game types.

Now lets get down to business, my skill tree is set up mostly towards offence as i play jax as a melee. I us atack power and ability power skills along with vamprism. ( ill talk more about vampirism in general later on) I also use in defense armor and tough skin being that jax has so little armor. I use tough skin because i use minions as sources of health (vampirism/ vamperic scepter and warmog's armor) and i don't want to take damage when i am trying to "heal".

Using this build may seem to be a challenge when you first start off because the first recommended buy ( besides health potions ) is about 1000 gold. Guisoos blade makes jax into the indestructible force he can be so i highly recommend buying up to it. I buy pickaxe first then blasting wand because you will need the attack first. I then focus on my vampirism so i buy vampiric scepter, with jax's fast attack speed it makes it easy to get quick health off an enemy then counter strike and leap strike away. For tips on using jax i would watch the video i will be putting up shortly. I then buy ninja tabai to help with his dodge and give him some armor. I again buy a vamperic scepter to maximize my health steal. After you have obtained these items i would suggest farming and trying to get the attack buff and make some gold (See more specifics about the farming down below). Clear your section of monsters and return to battle. With your new buff you should start playing more aggressive trying to obtain at least 2000 gold before retreating. Look for ganking opportunities and teleporting into an enemy atack. By this time you should be at least at level 9 and your counter strike should just about be maxed so when yo teleport in identify who has less armor/health and imediatly charge and leap strike so by the time the enemy(s) retreat it will be cooled down. After you do the combo position yourself where minions will attack you increasing your counter strike chance do the counter strike and keep attacking the one enemy when he runs catch up with him by leap striking and stun him again. Depending on how hurt you are retreat or retreat through the minions again increasing your counter strike chance while not getting to to injured due to tough skin. stun the 2nd champion with counter strike and life steal from as many minions as you can.

When you achieve 2000 or above buy ruby crystal then giants belt working your way up to warmogs armor. This again will be useful with healing yourself by killing minions in the middle of a champion battle.

By this point the game is either a winning one or a loosing one if your getting slaughtered i would suggest persuading your team with an all out assault on whichever side you've damaged most. When the enemy team comes to block your team immeadiatley leap strike in and stun every one retreat or flash away if you have it and let your team go in while you take out the surrounding minions. when your abilities all cools down do the same thing but this time attack with your team after you stun the enemy team you should have increased health from your warmogs armor and should be harder to take down. Continue this process with your team down to hopefully their nexus.

If you are winning... keep doing what youre doing...

No matter which is occurring the last item you should purchase for jax is the blood thirstier. It will add to his attack and life steal making jax just that much deadlier. Its passive is another reason for killing minions increasing life steal and attack.
If you get the chance (it's unlikely ) I would suggest buying another blood thirstier or if you think there won't be enough time buy a health potion.

With buying these items you should have all the tools you will need to defeat even the most tanked out champion, but do remember your not fully invincible don't think you can just run into 5 champions and kill them all . Jax is so deadly because of ..well as cliche as it is Suprise. Enemy champions don't expect for you to lunge in with a devastating attack and then stun them. So allways think about how you are going to Kill that next enemy.

Team Work..or soloing

Playing as jax you should want to pair yourself with anyone who is ranged and can slow/ stun enemy's. After he/she slows or stuns the enemy use you stun and use basic atacks then as he tries to retreat your teammate will still be getting hits because they are ranged you simply have to charge and leap strike for the kill. I find this strategy works exceptionally well even against 2 enemy's.

An important part of being a good player in general is communication ,always let your teammates know what you are going to do next so the can cover for you ,help you or what ever.Even if you are knew to the game try to communicate with your teammates the best you can as it will help you in the long run.

Playing with another melee/tank is just as simple. Have your teammate in position to gank and draw back the enemy's. Let him know which champion to attack or if there's just one use the attack beacon as a "now!" signal as your teammate attacks the targeted champion use basic attacks or if you can use a counter strike do so as they try to flee use charge and leap strike to finish the job.

Soloing with jax is trick and not recommended but still doable. At the beging of the match rush down what eve section you have to see if you can identify if you will be going 2v1 or 1v1.

1v1 you will have an easy time just use previously mentioned strategies.
2v1 you need to take out the first wave of minions as fast as you can before the enemy champions arrive. this will give you a starting advantage in xp and minions. It is extremely hard to solo with jax especially at the beginning but if you must use the push and pull technique . Identify the weaker champion and attempt to "bait" the champions. Run towards the stronger one so he will be closer to you. Once both the champion begins to follow/attack you separate them by running towards you turret and as soon as the closer stronger champion begins to retreat attack the now closer weaker one and continue doing this until you can actually engage them head on at a higher level.
This technique isn't foolproof but execute it right and you should do just fine soloing.

Pros / Cons ( build)

Great for teleporting in to a tough situation and clearing out enemies.
Great for chasing.
Great for ganking.
great for almost any play style.
Become unstoppable

The only down side to playing as jax is he has a small amount of armor even though i make up for that with his vast life steal and some armor runes
Jax also has long cool down times.
This build also is hard to start out with

Runes

I am not entirely sold on the importance of runes tho i do buy them, these would seem the most feasible for jax. Imporving his little armor and his ability power to make sure that his leap strikes get the job done.

Summoner Spells

Teleporting is probably the most important spell you can have at times it allows you to pop into sticky situations and clear out a space. It is also a great way of getting out of spawn as soon as you die.
Promote is best used as a turret punching bag obviousley but another great use for it is if you are injurred and you need just a little more cash for that next item before you retreat if you promote a minion all the gold it gets from kills go to you.

Farming

I do say it earlier in the summary but do not be concerned to heavily with farming untill later levels as you can obtain plenty of gold through killing turrets minions and of coarse champions. But if you do feel that you need gold jax is more than capable I would suggest staying with the wolves/ wraiths until around level 6.
