Skarner's long anticipated rework is finally here! Read on to learn everything there is to know about his rework before you hop on PBE and check him out yourself tomorrow!
The ancient brackern Skarner is revered in Ixtal as one of the founding members of its ruling caste, the Yun Tal, and is devoted to keeping Ixtal safe from the rest of the world by maintaining the region's isolation. As more members of the Yun Tal begin to question this decision, Skarner grows increasingly paranoid and will do anything to keep Ixtal and its people safe — no matter the cost.
Riot Games first announced their plans to rework Skarner in February in 2022. It's been a lengthy journey, but, as of tomorrow, a brand new version of Skarner will be available to play on the PBE server.
This is an all-encompassing rework that will change just about every aspect of the champion. Skarner is receiving a lore update, new or modified Splash Arts for all skins, a brand new in-game model and animations, and, of course, a gameplay update.

New Abilities
Skarner's new passive adds a new status effect in League of Legends. Each stack of Quaking will cause enemies to take damage based on their maximum health over time - meaning, it's very effective against tanks and scales well with the game. Most of Skarner's actions inflict Quaking.
Skarner's new Q is a two-fold ability. On initial cast, it empowers Skarner's damage, range and attack speed. After three melee attacks, Skarner can re-cast the ability to gain a ranged attack that slows targets. This improves Skarner's trading and allows him to finish off or stop fleeing units.
Skarner's new W provides some sustain and AoE damage. This will be invaluable while clearing camps in the early game.
Skarner's new E gives the jungler some mobility and great gank potential. He is able to ignore terrain during the E animation, which means he can employ some creativity in his ganking paths by jumping over walls instead of taking expected routes. He can also use this ability to grab, and then knock enemy champions into terrain, stunning them
Finally, Skarner's new ultimate ability allows the champion to impale up to three champions, damaging and suppressing them. He can move the champions while they are impaled, potentially bringing them into the waiting arms of his team. Overall, it keeps the same flavour of his old ultimate, which was super iconic for the character.
