SoloMid's first North American Invitational is taking place this weekend, eight top teams from the region will battle for $2000 and gear. After the success of their European Invitational where Natus Vincere took first place, TSM are now hosting their second tournament and they have plans to invest more than $100.000 in prize money until the end of the year.

On May 26th and 27th, the 8-team double elimination competition will be broadcasted on TSM's Twitch.tv channel with commentary provided by Dan Dinh, Wombat, Danyaherald, and MalfusX and if you cannot watch it live, you will be able to find the VoDs on their

League of Legends has grown tremedously in popularity in the Southeast Asian region, yet very little is known about the competitive scene from the area. We've only had the opportunity to see a few Southeast Asian teams compete at WCG 2011, IEM Guangzhou and Go4LoL Pro Asia so far.

However, things are about to change because Garena is now hosting a series of events until the end of the year under the name of Garena Premier League, where top teams from the region will compete for a prize pool of $40.000. The league will be broadcasted by Garena across multiple streams in different languages on Youtube's Livestream and features a high production value.

Considering that the Season II World Championship has reserved one spot for Taiwan and a second spot for the rest of Southeast Asia, we propose you to follow this intriguing league which will give us a better overview on the regional scene. The winners of the Opening Event were Taipei Assassins, arguably the favorites of series, whom have also shown us impressive wins recently in the Go4LoL Pro Asia against teams such as Najin e-mFire and Invictus Gaming.
