For starts your masteries aren't the best. To maximize on his great ganking potential you need to drop Havoc and put it into Utility Mastery. I find it in some situations rushing madreds isn't the best choice to go. Getting boots after first back is what I've seen the best option to go. Bloodthirster is good but it isn't the best. Selling brutalizer in the end is very bad. You lose so much damage by giving up on it. Yomuus is a must on him. The Active on it is far to great to pass on it. Not only that but you get more ArP. Merc treads is also a pretty situational choice. You shouldn't be going in when all the cc is taking place. I would take zerker greaves over it any day. Done right you will have avoided all the CC and be able to activate yomuus and tear them down. The jungle route that I have found to work the best is Wraith camp (smiting the big one) Wolf camp, double golem then blue. Sometimes you can even do red but it all depends on how much damage you took. Frozen mallet is a good item but it all depends on how good their carry is. If the team is protecting the ranged carry you wont really be able to maximize the use of the item. Just got into a game and tried this build out. Wasn't that great. By me going as a full AD made them stack armor so I wasn't that great. 4/5 People got thornmail rendering me doomed when i focus anyone. When I sold my brutalizer for a BF Sword. my damage just got lower from the loss of ArP.

P.S KDR isn't everything in LoL. Just because you have more deaths than kills doesn't mean you were a great help to your team.

Hey First off, Thanks A lot for giving great feedback to my build.
Masteries- If you read in the masteries secion, my friend "i bite u" offers an alternative, which is exactly what you wrote, so good job, but it is mentioned already.
Madreds- It really depends on how the game goes, if you farmed/jungled/ganked well enough early early game u can afford it. Otherwise, go with what you like.
Bloodthirster- It isnt the best? Please add more detail. in my build, I do not have much lifesteal so getting bloodthirster would give the best damage+lifesteal. As well, I build my nocturne as a burst damage and bloodthirster definitely helps with that.
Boots- As I said before, you can get zerker greaves or Merc treads. up to you. I sometimes get merc, sometimes get zerker. really depends on how much cc theother team has. As well, I try not to wait until my teammates have soaked up all the cc to go in. I try to help the team much as I can.
Jungling route- Up to you, I posted Stonewall's 3 versions. THeres a reason why theres three. Because you can do whatever u like.
Frozen Mallet- I mainly use frozen mallet for the added health as priority. Second, I use its passive for chasing/ganking and ensuring the kills. If their ranged carry is being protected... thats why you have an ult.
THORNMAIL- Hey great question, I'll add this to my guide, Basically, if they are getting thornmail, either get more MR, or just dont attack those guys.
Positive KDR- I use this as a means to keep up with 1. how good/much I am ganking 2. how good is my survivability.

Just to let you know, you shouldnt follow builds as they say exactly. If I say you can sell your brutalizer to get another bloodthirster, then you dont exactly NEEd to do it. Learn to assess the situation, look at the enemies' items, look at whats missing in team fights, look at what you need to help your team win. If they are stacking armor, then get armor pen items. Simple. That was the point of "selling brutalizer" so that you have an option to fill that spot with something you like. If you want Youmou's go for it.

This guide is mainly giving a nice introduction to nocturne to players. I stress on the ganking part because that is how he is supposed to be played. I did not just write a bunch of paragraphs just for the item build. Items are not set in stone, they can be situational, I stress on gameplay and playing "nightmare style".

It looks like a nice build, I would buy less potions for jungle, and change upgrade Phage into Frozen Mallet after I get Bloodthirster. Overall good guide IMO, check out mine if you want another view at this champ! =)

Nice guide
I went 11-0-5 with this
Frozen mallet definitely maximizes ganking opportunities and closes the gap nicely

This build looks similar to what I usually do with Noc.

I also found him too squishy and started adding the Frozen Mallet.

Good looking guide. +1
