Sorry but blitz is not AP at all... The only 2 things that can do damage with ability power is power fist and static field... If you build AD - Trinity Force - beserker greaves - manamune - infinity edge - Wukongs armour - and depending on the game depends on the last item... You can pretty much solo anyone... Power fist will crit 600 and not to mention overdrive with 600 crit its pretty much unstopable... Using manamune gives mana for mana barrior so the passive still works with hp and wukonga armour puts your health at 3k. This build is honestly op and its the only way to go. I've soloed yi... tryndamere all those with blitz

I've used this build and it works wonders with blitz. Anytime i pick him, i build him like this. I think that having mana is very important on him as you sure do too.

Bought Blitz today and used this guide as a starting point for my games with him.

3 matches, 3 victories. Great build, really thought out.

The mana problems at the beginning are a reality but if you're aware of it its not that big of a deal.

Items depend a lot on your playstyle. Some people think that my choice of boots is an overkill. I think I love those boots, because they give me a rather easy way to run from enemies if needed. I somehow like mobility more than high defence stats: Let's say that you have high defence but not much mobility, and 3 enemies are chasing you. If they land CC (slow, stun) on you, it's very hard to get away. They will just chase you and keep laying CC's on you until you die. But if you have high mobility, you have bigger chance to get away from them, and maybe dodge their CC's. Of course there is chance that they just focus you down, but you have passive barrier. And I'm playing pretty carefully so people won't surprise me so many times. That's also the reason why I don't build my Blitzcrank too tanky. I know my limits and will be ready to run back if needed. So I find 1 magic resist and armor item enough to keep me alive and focus on more AP.

CC Boots would be nice, but there is only one reason why I would use them: To get early CDR. It would be nice, but since this build already gets to 40% CDR I'd need to cut some off from somewhere else, meaning Frozen Heart. That is, though, a must item in my opinion and I won't be cutting it away.

Of course anyone can play Blitzcrank as they want and it's just great, because people can see that this champion is so versatile.

I love this build to death. The only thing I DON'T like is Rabadons and Boots. I'm starting to use the CDR boots and they work like a charm. And late game you simply aren't bulky enough to make pulls without dying. So I put Zhonyas over Rabadons. And I put Frozen Heart before Lich Bane to get more tankyness but thats just personal preference. Otherwise very good guide.

Might I also suggest Rammus as a good lane partner, laning with him I've found little need to even use my ulti unless its a larger than 2v2 fight, we can usually just rocket grab, power fist, overdrive, taunt, and they are dead! His ulti is great for destroying enemies while you both just chase, more than a few times we've just had to keep up with them and let my lightning finish the job. Only occasionally will I need to use my ulti if they are fed or especially tanky.

Great build! Just like you said, not always all about kills, in the few games I've played I've gone 10-3-19 and 12-7-21, great for team fights, and early game with the right lane partner you can get easy kills from dumb enemies waiting in brush near the tower :P Games are over before I can finish the build but works great all the way up through levels.

Great guide - another tip you might like to look into is to lane with shaco - use rocket fist to drag enemies into a patch or boxes for an instant effortless kill. Even if they know you are there they either have to risk the fist or hug tower all game.
