Seems like a good build. This is quite similar to how I'm running Ryze in dominion, at least in the beginning. Starting with a catalyst gives a ton of early game strength, especially at the speed everyone levels up. While archangels staff is nice to give some pop to your spells, your e especially, you won't get anywhere near the kind of stacks you would in a full length game. The spell vamp item is interesting. I usually end up relying on my R to stay alive, so it's an interesting idea to have this to poke with, maybe you can save your r for the second burst and get more reliable damage with the aoe.

Not really feeling the gunblade though... I think I'd rather do a second RoA or something.

Well my friend, in the part where it says "i lose 750 mana for not buying archangels..." wrong. It's 1750 what you lose.

In dominion maybe its true that catalyst is OP early game, but i think that goes for your playstyle. More generally, ryze is played for mid-late game ownage, so its HIGHLY recommended to start as a crystal mague early game and then become the tanky ryze.

For that, i gave you negative vote to the guide, and your spells are also WRONG. I'd use flash + ghost or even exhaust + ghost, spending 1 point in the exhaust mastery to get a nice early game help.

I tried your build, and i like the guide aspect, but I know most people only look at your build and when i tried it, Ryze didn't have nearly enough mana needed to make him as OP as he can be. He got nerfed memba? so I'm sorry to say thumbs down, you should consider looking into the build and skill sequence again. Good luck :)

Pretty nice, and i like how you built something other than the norm, gives something new to the 'pwnage' build. however i still back my guide 100% xD. sorry haha :P but definitly worth a plus one
