I see where you stand in your writing but that is all very opinionated. This still qualifies as a "Tanky-DPS" build because I do have increased critical rate however you say that this is in no way AD. By your definition AD has to have increased critical rate, which I have accomplished. I simply, unlike however you may play it, play more tanky than offense and I think Atma's Impaler fits just nicely.

Your build is tanky but it is in no way AD. A true AD Garen has to have a Judgement that crits, invariably, everytime and an Infinity Edge to makes critical hits sting very very very bad. Atma's only gives you 18%, you need Infinity Edge and Phantom Dancer(especially if u wish to complement your Judgement with auto-attacks). The armor from Atma's and Sunfire Cape and the health from Warmog's and the previously mentioned Sunfire Cape, as well as replacing Sunfire Cape with Force of Nature in the case of an AP enemy team, make you pretty tanky, so I think u don't actually need things like Hexdrinker or Thornmail. This is My personal build for Garen, and it really works, but hey, whatever works for u is best.

Good guide, except you should replace frozen mallet with another item. doesnt apply the slow, so its lackluster on garen. You should add an AD item, or get another defense item overall +1

ah I overlooked that, thanks for pointing that out!

I just wanted to ask: why did you take teh Burning Embers mastery? Garen does not benefit from AP at all. You could take that point and put it in alacrity or something.
