Veigar Guide
Durable Veigar
Rylais is a bit pointless really, i guess if you stun then w and q, your meteor is more likely to hit, but it should hit anyway.
You start slow but with a lot of potions, but all you get for the expense of potions is a tear, and all of you mana through the build is at the expense of damage. It seems as though your items dont complement veigar as much as they should.
A link to my build is below, its less health and mana at early, but builds up to being useful much faster. Remember you are still a caster not a full tank

You can also get Deathfire Grasp for your 5th item, I just prefer some Magic Pen (because SOMEONE on the enemy team will build MR). And if you're getting Deathfire Grasp, you should get Thornmail or Zhonya's instead of Frozen Heart (because there's no reason to have that much CDR, right?)... You'd really have to plan that in advance.
It's not a bad item at all, it would just be more convenient to get other items in my opinion.
Oh yeah, if you're fighting Vlad or Olaf or someone who stacks tons of health, Deathfire would be great.
I'll add a list of other good items you can take to my guide later. :)
Just a few tips and questions
1- Why do you not grab Rabadon's Deathcap? With the sheer amount of AP it gives, alongside AP being so valuable to ANY caster, let alone Veigar, it seems awkwardly missing.
2- Perseverance is, by all accounts, completely useless. The 4% increase in regen is nothing (others, much smarter than myself, have broken the math down). Good Hands, on the other hand (hahaha, pun intended) is not game changing, but it might help counter a late-game ace.
3- Have you looked at Zhonya's over Frozen Heart? I can see where the mana is very needed with not having a RoA, but you should not be that close to auto-attackers where the slow is incredibly helpful. Zhonya's would give you some armor (just in case), a 2-second save for those oh-**** moments, and, of course, MOAR AP!!!!
I like the idea of a more durable Veigar, but just curious about those points.
You can get Rabadon's as your 5th item, and it is a good item. I did say it's a viable item on the guide somewhere... My reasoning with not always getting it is that Veigar already can get so much AP, he "doesn't need it." But if the enemy has no Magic Resist, it's a great item. =)
I'm so used to getting Perseverance on all my champs... I love my regen too much. I guess it would also do well in Good Hands (rofl the pun), I just made this tankish guide in the hopes that you won't die at all. XD Wishful thinking, of course. But I'll consider moving those points around.
I've never been a Zhonya's fan, but I guess it could work. But the lack of CDR will be sad.
