Well, I think AP Varus would be pretty fun. I've had him and got bored of AD after he came out. I regretted buying him, but I will try AP because of this guide. I'll comment back with my evaluation and a vote. ;)

Instead of going pure AP, you may consider going AD early game to get the best out of his Q and changing into an AP/AS hybrid mid to late game, when your enemies start getting the HP you like to shred.
If they would ad an AP ratio to his E, this might be pretty strong.

I'm sorry, but this build just doesn't work. Varus doesn't have any ap scaling (other than w and r) to really make him an effective AP champ. I find that going AP twitch is more effective then AP varus, and that's a fact.
