I'm kind of tired of making blogs, they seem pointless so thats kind of why I haven't done one in forever. A lot things seem pointless now, trying to play this game seems pointless a lot of the time. I started to playing League back in season 1 right around the time Xin Zhao was released, back in Novemeber 2010. It's almost been 5 years since then and I've played literally thousands of games and spent way more hours than I really want to know, I have to say I wouldn't say it was wasted time at all, I enjoyed a lot of it, and I didn't always agree with Riot's stance on balancing, the direction of the game, but I had faith that they were making moves that would improve the game, but over the past 2 seasons in particular I think it's become abundantly clear that the direction of the game is quite poor for the average player. For the player that plays solo queue and isn't in the professional scene, it's a terrible experience and only getting worse.

There was a lot of commotion made about comments made by Dyrus and Betsy about the fact that you can't solo carry games anymore. And while I think thats good for competitive play, it is terrible for solo queue. I don't think being able to 1v5 would be healthy for the game, but if I have an advantage I should not rely on my teammates competence to be able to win. For example, today I went 4/1 on Nidalee in the top lane, my bot lane also did quite well, winning lane and establishing a lot of pressure, unfortunately we got stuck with a brand that went 1/7 in the first 20 minutes of the game. I wouldn't say he was trollng, but he definitely wasn't trying to help us win. It is absolutely unacceptable that the current state of the game does not allow a single person to carry, but allows a single-person to lose you the game. Make no mistake about it; you cannot win this game by yourself or on the back of one person, but you can absolutely lose the game because of one person. Unfortunately, the direction of the game is much more team-oriented, which is great for the LCS and for professional play, but terrible when you are thrown in an environment with 9 random people. Aside from the fact that there are really poor ways to communicate in game already, absolutely kills the point of solo queue as a tool to get better or a basis of skill. The game no longer is reliant on my performance for me to succeed, it literally comes down to whether or not my team can operate together and whether or not my teammates are competent enough to not single-handedly lose the game for the rest of us. You could say, "but mooninites, couldn't you be carried by the fact that an enemy player goes 1/7?" You'd be absolutely correct, I could get better elo, rank up, win the game, whatever on the grounds that an enemy player fed, but did I deserve the win? Did I do anything to get that win or was I forced to use skill to win the game? Unless it was my lane opponent no, which furthers my point that the game is moving in a direction which your individual success does not necessarily translate to a successful outcome (i.e. winning or moving up in rank). It was true back in Season 1, 2, and every season since then, and certainly there is something to be said for how toxic snowballing in S2 was, but it also meant that your individual skill could snowball the game and actually meant something. the phrase win lane = win game no longer applies, but sadly the phrase lose lane = lose game still does and the game is worse because of it.

I could go on about the state of balance and what an incredible ****ing joke it is right now, but honestly, I don't even want to write more or think about league, I can't wait for Kindrd for the Riot balance team to display yet another example of it's incredible incompetence. The state of balance is a total ****ing joke right now, which only further complicates the problem that you can't carry a game by yourself.
