Gank Selection

Tarzaned offers coaching of a Kindred game play for a sometime Master tier player.

There are several things to take away from this coaching session, but the one I found most interesting for where I am at is what to do when an enemy laner is running Ignite.

So you run Ignite for increased kill pressure. Other summoner spells tend to scale better later in the game, so that means you will want to use your Ignite to get kills early. That probably means a laner with Ignite is going to play aggressively.

As jungler, what do you do with that information?

How about camp the laner with Ignite? Watch them to see if they are playing aggressively. If so, be there in order to counter the aggression. When they fully commit and use their mobility spells such as

Me and My 3 Ranged Minions are Pushing

Some interesting points about playing ADC, but the main point of interest to me was pointing out instances when the person being coached should have reset to take advantage of an item spike or simply be safe and efficient while pushing.

A couple of the key points are discussed starting at 12:27, however if you only watch that you want to back up to when the person being coached and their support start their push in Top lane.

I particularly like the point about hey you only have 3 ranged minions which will only allow time for getting a couple of shots on the full health tower. Why not go get some vision (put down wards) so you are safer and then when your full minion wave arrives you can spend time sieging the tower if your wards don't tell you that you should be getting out of the area.

Thinking your way to wins

-What is the situation on the map?
-Based on that assessment what do I want to do?
-What do I need to make it happen?
-Alternatives?
-Do it

You need to be able to answer these questions even when you are chasing that fing Ezreal/ Kayn/

As jungler should I Flash for an early kill?

The scenario - ganking Top lane at level 3 after a Blue > Wolves > Red > Rift Scuttler start.

You should have an idea where the enemy jungler is based on which of their laners came to lane late. So, if you are mirroring them you can expect them to be right behind you if you have the faster three camp clear or ahead of you waiting in a bush if they have the faster three camp clear.

Case in point. Shyvana vs

How to push two waves safely

A tidbit I picked up from one of Wickd's VOD reviews. I'll link the video and mark the time he discusses it when I get an opportunity.

Wickd coaching a Jayce. The point about safely pushing two waves is discussed at 14:27.

It is a somewhat specific scenario, but I hadn't heard it before and I consume a lot of league content so if I haven't heard it, others might not have either.

Say the towers are down in Top lane, but you take the Rift Herald. There is an enemy minion wave slightly past the mid point of the river on your side of the map and so you would like to get your minions pushing to the enemy side of the map AND two waves will give you enough gold to hit an item spike.

So how do you get those two waves without having to push too far into enemy territory?

Key Point

You slow push the first wave and then fast push the second wave.

Slow pushing the first wave will allow for the second wave to reach you without you having to overextend into enem…
