First blog, new gamers' views on the LoL communit

Hello guys! I'm a bronze 1 adc/supp main trying to work my way up toward the promised land of the bling level! League is by far my favorite game, not only for the gameplay, but for the people I play the game with.

I know there's a stigma involved with the people who play league. I've heard it directly from game developers that are friends of mine and work for companies up in Seattle (not going to name names).

My girlfriend had just graduated from law school, and our friend had flown down from Seattle to see it and be supportive! She works for a well known gaming company, so of course I asked her if she was working on any moba type games. I also asked if she played any, and what she thought of league of legends.

Her response summed up was, "I'll play only with friends or against bots. Because the league community doesn't regard new players too highly, and is extremely hostile toward them. You have no chance to learn the game and get better without people flaming you so hard th…

The Red Sons

Hello,

I am the current starting mid-laner for the Red Sons and i'm very excited to be apart of the upcoming Astro Tourney. Coming into this my team and I are very confident of our chances to win the whole thing. I think this will be a very fun tournament. We of course have a very good all-around team, but if we want to win this then we need to identify our weaknesses and improve on them. Having our shotcaller in the jungle make the flow of the game go a lot smoother and should improve our overall game performance. Our team just needs to work hard to get better and we will have a good shot at this tourney!

Fantasy LCS Preview

For those that don't know Riot has set up a fantasy LCS league for you to make with friends

I wanted to make a tier list of sorts or give a basic run down of what I think will be the best picks, maybe some sleepers, and perhaps some players that will regress:

Scoring

Scoring is going to work in multiple ways

For Individuals

Kills worth 2 points
Deaths worth -0.5 points
Assists worth 1.5 points
CS worth 0.01 point per CS

There are then bonus points for

Triple Kills worth 3 points
Quadra Kills worth 5 points
Penta Kills worth 10 points
>10 Kills/Assists worth 2 points

Teams get far fewer points with a minimum of 1 for things like first blood and a maximum of 2 for things such as a Victory

Initial Strategy should tell you that individuals are far more important than drafting teams early. Teams can be a strong point stream; for example a team like Cloud 9 which consistently dominates each split with strong Objevtive, Baron, Dragon control and frequent victories will be a stead…

Scandinavian Streamer

Been having a rough time in ranked lately went from 88 points in Diamond division IV to being demoted to Diamond V. Now it's time to climb back up again like I've done two times before after being demoted :P

Going to stream a few ranked games this morning so anyone is welcome to join my chat and talk to me while I stream, which I enjoy very much :)

Btw, did anyone watch this nights Bellator? MVP is such an amazing fighter with his flashy and illusive style.

An Update On Everybody's Enemy

It's been a while since I've actually been properly active, I've just been dropping comments here and there, but not really properly getting involved in much. I've fallen behind my review service and not playing as many LoL games (especially ranked) and my skill has dropped considerably in the last few patches among other things and I just wanted to give a quick update on what has been happening in my life recently.

- So I finished my final exam two days and have just been spending my freedom with some friends.

- I got an offer from Birkbeck College, University of London to do a MA Degree in Philosophy provided I get a 2:2 in my current course.

- I auditioned for a professional dance company back in March and got accepted. I now rehearse on Fridays, meaning I can no longer make inhouses, and some Saturdays, along with sporadic ones here and there, depending on when we next have a show. I have already done a video shoot for the BBC last Thursday to be aired on the 6th June on 'Songs …

Seasonal Teirs and their downfalls!

Well it's been a long while since I've done one of these and I think it's about time I jump back in the saddle. This one's going to be a lengthy one and I feel rightfully so since it's about some very big things.

So recently I've jumped back into ranked and I'm silver 1 trying to get to gold and I almost get there quite often, but I keep running into these few issues at my rank. Now don't get me wrong here please, I am by no means professional or just amazing at league. So here are the things I keep seeing in ranked that bother me and have since the beginning of league in ranked. We see top tier champs always played. Why you might ask? Well it's simple... because they're easy to play and offer the least amount of failure state for their kit.

How would someone go about fixing this? A lot of people would say "Well just pick that champs counter and carry your team like you're suppose to." Alright let me tell you what I see wrong with this statement. "Carry your team" is the first thing …

I am a Volunteer at Leaguepedia now

So, there was this application form that was made by Leaguepedia. It's for volunteers and I applied because I've been wanting to find something to do. Surprisingly, I got accepted. Staff members from Leaguepedia added us on Skype and they made a chat room with us and them where we can talk and ask them any questions. I'm glad I got accepted because this is gonna allow me to kill time while being useful to Leaguepedia, League e-sports and the League community.

If you're wondering what a Volunteer does/is, basically you willingly offer to help out by updating or correcting existing articles and pages about events, players, teams, etc. They don't pay anything for it. There are a few benefits though. Like I said, you're helping out Leaguepedia and the community by doing it. Also, there is a small chance you might get to talk to a pro player but like I said it's a small chance.

My first job (gonna be doing it later today) is to read the patch notes for 4.6 and 4.7 and check if the champio…

Upgraded gaming rig!

So yeah, I finally got to upgrade my gaming rig (or at least give it a massive visual update)! :-)
I really got fed up with my old Antec Nine Hundred case which not only looked kinda ugly, it also made a lot of noise. Replaced it with a Corsair Carbide 500R which looks astonishing if you ask me. It also definitely makes a bit less noise which is great because I'm not only using this as a gaming PC but also as a workstation.

Besides that, I fit a Semi Modular and 80+ Gold certified power supply for better cable management and efficiency. With 650W of total power this thing sucks up your whole power bill so having this new thing in hopefully pays back soon.

Finally I mounted an SSD to make boot and loading times acceptable again. For only 100€ you get 240GB SSD's right now which is super cheap, so if you were considering to get one yourself I'd really go for it. The performance increase is massive for that price.

My full setup looks like this now:
