Introduction

Yo guyz I decided to make a graves build because I see very many graves players rushing 3force/phantom so have a bad early game. I hope this guide will help ya to be more succesfull at early game and dominate in teamfights. Please give me a feedback after reading the guide so I'll know how I can get better or what I should change.

Runes

As runes I prefer damage/att speed/amp
attack damage to have stronger autoattacks & spells at early game
attack speed gives you a large boost after using quickdraw too
armor penetration to strengthen your attacks also expecting that you are gonna buy last whisper too

Masteries

I take 21/9/0 masteries because graves is very effective as pure ad carry or as offtank.

Items

My first Itembuild is an offtank build which I use in my most games because a squishy graves can dei very fast if the enemies focus him. I buy Wriggle's asap to have a strong heal up in lane and to be able to jungle or to do solo drag. After that I get Berserker's Greaves to have more attack speed and because theyre very cheap too. Then I get Bloodthirster and Last Whisper which makes me able to deal very hard damage in teamfights not just against carrys but against tanky guys too and with my high lifesteal I have a very strong heal, so even if I get focused I can stay at the battlefield a bit longer than before. But to become tanky I get FM and Atmas which give me high hp, nice armor and another boost on my attack damage. If you notice, that you are an easy kill for enemy casters you can also get Mercury Treads instead of Berseker's Greaves and Wits End or GA instead of Atmas.

My second build is that one I normally use when I see, that the enemies cant do anything against me so instead of going tanky I get very high AD carry stats. I buy the same items like in my first build because they're the best items to make me strong at early game anyway. I continue with Armor penetration items and with Ghostblade which make me very strong in teamfights, but if you notice that the enemies deal too much damage to you you should try to buy the items from the first build

Skill Sequence

I skill Buckshot first because Buckshot is very usefull if you want to farm as much as possible and to harass the enemy at the same time. After that I skill Quickdraw which gives me an awesome boost at lvl5 when I have to fight 1v2 or maybe 1v1 with low hp. I skill Smoke Screen last because it just deals damage if it hits the enemy, but it is more usefull to place it behind the enemy to prevent him from escaping or before the enemy to prevent him from killing you or your teammates.

Pros / Cons

Pros:
-High nuking damage --> effective at 1v1, ganks and when getting ambushed
-Good farmer
-Able to jungle and lane at the same time
-Strong pusher
-Has a spell to make distance between the enemy and himself
-Can reduce the effectivity of enemy carries by blinding them with Smoke Screen so they will lose some seconds to get out and wont be able to aim at the moment

Cons:
-Pure AD Graves gets killed easy if the enemies focus and nuke him
-Quickdraw is not an escape spell because it has a very short distance
-When getting exhausted you should just launch your Buckshot and Collateral Damage into the enemies and then get away by using Quickdraw
-Getting useless if stunned/silenced for 3 seconds or more
-No chance against champions like trynda and yi at end game if not exhausting them

Creeping / Jungling

When you jungle at 3v3 because your lane is too pushed or the enemy is too strong you should better not use any spells, otherwise you will be getting oom too fast. That is another thing why I prefer to buy Wriggle's asap. When suddenly facing an enemy champion in the jungle, RUN and dont try to fight him, if at least 1 other enemy is missed or nearby.

Team Work

In team fights launch your Q and R then, when the enemies are in a bunch, because then it's normally so, that all of them (if there isnt some1 like rammus etc ofc) have about 50% of their max hp left. Then go forward by also using Quickdraw and land some autoattacks. You should try to launch Smoke Screen behind or before an enemy to prevent them from getting away/chasing you or your teammates. If you are not intending to kill some1 but just to harass, you should better not use Quickdraw to get near to them and be able to land your Buckshot. Try to hide in bushes or fire it when the enemy is careless for a short time, because 1) you'll waste too much mana 2) if you dont have a whole creep wave infront of you, it'll take you very long to refresh this skill.

If you are in such a teamfight where your team's and the enemy team's damage are equal, use your quickdraw asap to grant more attack speed, because otherwise you may lose the teamfight just because of this mistake.

Farming

If you are at top, you dont have just to lasthit the enemy creeps, because if you get Madred's Razors/Wriggle's asap, you can just go and jungle if you feel unsafe to push more. Also you should try to harass your enemy with autoattacks and Buckshot while lasthitting creeps if he's in range.
