Caitlyn
The range that Caitlyn has over Xayah makes it nearly impossible to win lane.If the Cait is decent, you will get stomped bot lane. Just try to push the wave hard against her to stop her from pushing it under your tower.
Introduction - Bio/Champ
Hello, I'm a Gold 2 player with the summoner name Entrako. I have been playing league for quite a few years and have a passion for the game. I primarily play mid and ADC, but after the release of Xayah I decided to make this guide to help people learn and understand this wonderful champion.
Xayah was released 2 days ago as a spellcaster marksman for the botlane, and I have been spamming her since. No one seems to know how to play her, or against her yet which has lead me to go as far as getting a pentakill on Xayah already! This champion is very intuitive and unique which brings a very enjoyable experience into your games. If this is what you strive for, this may just be the champion you are looking for; strong for ranked, and fun for normals! When played with Rakan, Xayah gains a situational recall buff and Rakan gains empowered auto attacks from Xayah's W and the enhanced situational recall.
This guide isn't as pretty as the most of the top viewed guides, but at least you're not listening to some bronze player. I'm not going to go pointlessly in depth and make a paragraph about every single point you place in every single mastery, because every level 30 player should know why to place points in Ferocity rather than Resolve... This guide will instead teach you what to do and the reasons behind that. Along with what not to do and the reasons behind that. Good luck!
PROS
1. High Damage - Burst, Sustained DPS
2. Ability makes you untargitable - Uneffected by cc and damage (excluding pre dealt DOT [e.g. red buff])
3. Has CC which can root multiple targets - Bladecaller
4. Can hard carry
5. Cannot be insta killed if played correctly - Featherstorm
6. Special buff interactions with Rakan
7. Multi target
8. Great wave clear
9. Great to kite with - has Bladecaller to snare any chasing enemies
CONS
1. Immobile - No dash, blink, jump
2. Easily Caught
3. Targeted
4. Some bad matchups - e.g. Caitlyn
5. Setting up feathers requires time
6. Revolves around feathers
When playing Xayah, you are going to want to max E - Bladecaller. This is your main damaging ability and is the best option of the three to max in terms of damage and utility.
Next you are going to want to max W - Deadly Plumage. The attack speed scaling that you acquire from this is good from 30% up to 50% and the reduced cooldown from 16s to 12s helps you a lot. With reduced cooldown on Deadly Plumage, you are attacking more which results in a faster output of feathers and damage as this in turn synergises with your E - Bladecaller. By having more feathers out in a shorter amount of time means that you can use E - Bladecaller faster in relation of how many feathers are out resulting in more damage.
Lastly, you are going to want to max Q - Double Daggers. This is for a number of reasons. The base damage on Double Daggers is terrible and the scaling is no better. At level 5, Double Daggers is gaining an extra 160 base damage which is negligible in comparison to the benefit Xayah gets from her W and E synergy that they have with each other. This is also the only feature you get from levelling up this ability so it's just not worth it. Levelling this ability first is just a joke...
E - Bladecaller and w - Deadly Plumage synergise well with each other so points aren't worth spending on Q.
I checked the front page of the other top Xayah guides and they all recommended maxing Q apart from one fellow that recommends to max W... These people have obviously not put a lot of thought into this and shouldn't be taken as seriously.
TLDR: If you have a brain max R>E>W>Q
First Back Maybe you died early? Or got a kill when invading? Grab either a Long Sword or Boots and Health Potion whenever you can early. If you invaded and the minions are almost in lane just grab Boots. ~700 or Down to preference and game flow. I personally like to go double Long Sword unless i'm constantly getting ganked by the enemy jungler and back often then Boots is a good choice. ~1000 or Both decent, Caulfield's Warhammer gives an extra 5 ad and 10% CDR but it's recommended to get double Long Sword and Boots to get back to lane faster, help avoid ganks and to catch the enemy. ~1500 or This is the probably the latest you are wanting to back unless you are demolishing the lane then ~2000 Gold will be the latest. I would recommend the B. F. Sword here rather than the Caulfield's Warhammer and Boots. First Back Summary What we are looking to build first is primarily Essence Reaver for the majority of the time. This said it is not recommended to build Cloak of Agility too early as the raw damage is better for the first back. If you can afford; B. F. Sword and Boots are a good pickup first back. Other than that just buy what you can afford. Dont Buy On First Back: Dont Forget Buy Health Potion whenever you can early, but don't have too many in your inventory at any given time. Always pop a pot during a fight because the 150 health it gives you could win you the fight. For Control Ward's, I rarely ever buy them. Usually when my support doesn't have enough gold for one/didn't buy one or if getting camped, place one in brush next to tower. |
Core Items |
Essence Reaver: 3600 Berserker's Greaves: 1100 Rapid Firecannon: 2600
Total:7300
This is what you should be rushing 90% of the time.
Essence Reaver is great on Xayah, especially as a first item for a number of reasons. Essence Reaver gives attack damage, crit, and cooldown along with 2 unique passives. The first being that the user will gain additional Cooldown Reduction depending on Critical Strike Chance from other sources, which Xayah benefits from a lot as she builds a lot of crit. The second being that Critical strikes restore 3% of your maximum mana pool. As a marksman - spell caster, Xayah relies heavily on her abilities to be able to dish out as much damage as possible, rather than other marksman who primarily use auto attacks. This said, you may find that you will run out of mana rather quickly if not building Essence Reaver, minimising your damage output.
Berserker's Greaves should be picked up as a 2nd item, being built at the same time as Essence Reaver and/or Rapid Firecannon as the movement speed is vital.
Rapid Firecannon is a great pickup on Xayah because the extra range gained from the item means she can auto further, in turn shoot feathers further which can definitely help when sieging, kiting, poking; to surprise an enemy and root them with Bladecaller which could save your life or pick off that escaping enemy.
Thanks for reading so far! A like would be appreciated to help promote the Guide so other people can see and benefit from it! If you have any questions, concerns, or critiques just leave a comment and I will get back to you soon! :)
