Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
Brand is a very good caster and is great for team fights. He is a very viable bot lane but I like to play him top. This guide will help you have the most effective build possible with brand. You will blow your lane away.
With brand I tend to use Ignite and Flash, typical mid summoner spells. However ghost and exhaust are both viable options although I would not recommend using exhaust because of brands stun. You can use ghost to help get away, but in my opinion flash is more useful, although ghost has a lower cool down.
I like starting with boots and health pots, its pretty standard starting build. Although if you are going against somebody who is heavy ad you could easily start with cloth armor. I get, with almost any AP carry, 2 dorans rings. The extra AP and mana regeneration really helps harass, seeing as Brand is a little bit more mana dependent. I like to get amplifying tome next just for the little extra AP so it helps with harass. Next i get Sorcerers Boots, but if you are getting blown away I would get Ninja Tabi or Mercury's Treads. Next i get Hextech Revolver. It is a standard mid game item, that with the spell vamp helps sustain a little bit more. If money is falling out of the sky left and right then I would get a Deathfire Grasp or Rabadons depending on situation. Next after Hextech Revolver and Rabadons/Deathfire finish up Hextech Revolver with Will of the Ancients. Next come Void Staff, which will really help because it will just add to your AP. If your lane opponent is building heavy Magic Resist you may want to consider this item earlier. It will make a lot of their Magic Resist void. Next comes Lich Bane. You may want to consider getting tear of the goddess earlier in game for Mana purposes. Plus Lich Bane gives some AD with the unique ability which is always useful for farming and such. Next is Rylai's Crystal Scepter. This is very useful late game because it effectively makes you less squishy, and gives you a good amount of AP. You may want to get a Rod of Ages instead if the enemy team is a lot of AP, or a Zhonya's if you are being constantly killed by AD. Zhonya's will give you a lot of AP too. Also if you find yourself being constantly blown away you may want to consider a Guardian Angel. The Armor and Magic Resist will make you much stronger.
With Brand you want to late hit early game, because his abilities use a lot of mana. As soon as you become less mana dependant I like to W then E to maximize farming. Make sure to deny farm to lane opponents by constant harassment. And remember if you don't have a jungler to grab wraiths whenever the opportunity arises.
My favorite is to start with E, then Q for stun on the character you are targeting, then W, then R. Make sure to hit the area where your W will hit the most chars, including the one your targeting. If you are chasing someone i like to W then Q for stun, then E and R. If that doesn't finish it throw ignite out there, unless they are too high of health.
Brand should stay far away from the fight. If you do happen to get sucked into the fight flash away or try to deal as much damage as possible to help your team. Brand should clean up kills with his R. Just make sure to get them with an ability first to prioritize them with R.
Brand is a very good mid, as long as you know how to use him. He is mana and cooldown reliant, until late game if you have the right items. He has good AP on him if you use his abilities right, or if you just get a lot of AP :D LOL. Alright good luck and please comment when you rate.
