Introduction
Please note that this is my first build and is very general, Jax is flexible.
Jax is hard to lane. While laneing Jax I take Empower Weapon first so last hitting minons is easy, it is esental that you do this as you need to get Ninja Tabi boots ASAP. Due to the fact that Jax has no ranged attacks dont ever think you can solo effectively. Play defence till level 6 before trying to do any serious harassment
For my skills I general take Empower as being a priority it provides the highest damage per point, then alternate between Leap strike and counter strike but these change depending on who you are facing, Ie if it is an all AD team take counterstrike always, if its an AP team, take leap strike for the manoeuvre-ability, that's all I have to say, Jax is skills slot together very easily so it shouldn't matter a whole deal what order you take them in, but i allways counterstrike when I can for the stun, thats about it.
In this build I don't take any doran's blades/rings as Jax needs Ninja Tabi early, they provide a large amount of defence and offence (Counter Strike), and by the time you are level 6-8 you should have enough gold for Sheen, which provides a lot more burst and sustained damage through out the game. On the flipside, if you are playing very offensive and try and get a level 1 kill taking a doran's blade makes you kind of over powered as you gain an additional 45 HP from the attack damage, this will tip the balance if they chose to stand and fight. Once you have sheen I - if things are going badly - take two vamp sceptres, this with sheen means that you can jungle very effectively and I suggest you go and jungle Lizard buff and Golem buff. At this point you should be going for ganks, if you cant then just jungle and farm. The next item is expensive, which is why ganking would come in handy, B/F sword (Big F***ing sword?) costs 1650g but provides a massive buff to sheen and thus a double damage output, again keep ganking and finish with bloodthirst. once you have bloodthirst take the time to get the stacks to make the item truly overpowered. Next start building straight for infinity blade, expensive yes but compleatly worth it - ditto tactics - Once you have infinity blade start working into phage, and then zeal and then finish trinity force. From this point the items list shows a bloodthirst and an infinity blade, however dont feel that these are your only options, i advise that any item you take has Attack Damage but feel free to put anything in the last two slots. if things are going badly I take hextec gun blades for the large amounts of passive HP i get from them.
