There you have it, my first ever guide, hope some of you find it usefull :)
The basic idea is to kill stuff with magic damage, playstyle is combination of an ap caster and assasin,we'll get to that.
First of all, if you can get middle lane, you should do so, master Yi can handle most of the champions, that is if you know how to properly use your alpha strike(1:1 AP ratio). As a powerfull last hitter (wuju style ) on top of alpha, your lane mate won't have much last hits which may result in him being starved and problems in late game.
So start with mana potion and regrowth pendant and turn it into philospoher stone ASAP, combined with mana regen runes you will permanently spam alpha strike to get minions killed and your lane opostion heavily harrased. Alpha strike should be used when there are 2 or 3 minions near oposing champ , now this is a bit tricky to explain, but this will result with ji hitting champ and returning to safe position at which he used alpha strike. I often get kill in first 5 levels be it in lane or mid due to alpha spam and turret dive + flash out.
Once regrowth pendant and basic boots are finnished,looking for champs in other lanes with less then 50% hp is a good idea, try to get few ***its and kills with a well placed Q and flash out if need be. Try not to return to base untill there is gold for wits end and sorc shoes due to farming or killing,whicever you prefer, this build shines in early game especaily.
After that, well i usually rush gunblade, it has that lovely nuke with slow and gives pretty much everything from spell vamp,lifesteal to both ap and dmg but one could also make malady to further improve dmg from wits end due to magic shred from malady, then followed with gunblade. If you havent won yet and most likely you havent due to a relatively early phase at which ji can get all these items one should acquire rageblade and if the game does let you build your last let it be bloodrazor. Improved rally and flash are crucial, so i wouldnt advice to replace either of those for i can not guarante this build to work in certain scenarios. Pretty much drop rally (+35 dmg and 70 ap for you and team ) in many vs many fights or when you atempt 1 vs 2 dont waste its cooldown 1 vs 1,unless you really need it which you shouldn't.
As for runes i'm aware of possible changes but i took crit chances because lucky crit can indeed save yer arse at ocasions,and well mana regen is a potent discusion subject but you should spam alpha a lot and runing out of mana in wrong situation, say two of the enemy champs hitting you, allies are comming for help and you cant acctivate meditation (which makes you almost impossible to kill for the duration).
This is highly specialized build so it wont work in game with plenty of champs like shen, vlad,kenen,mundo ,basiclly manaless champs. But when there is no such oposition try it and see results for yourself.
