Akali is a very bursty AP champion who can chase or escape targets with great ease. With Akali you can get away with almost anything depending on how well you know how to use her and with this guide I will be explaining tips and tricks along with my general play of Akali.

Pros

Very quick, ability to move from target to target very very quickly.
Invsibility in an area, can stop damage or it can be used to escape.
Very BURSTY and if built correctly can survive for a long time.
If you're someone who is good at jukeing you will love Akali as she is one of the best jukers in the game.

Cons

Very Squishy.
Can be countered by Oracles and then the entire team focusing you.
Needs her team mates to take all the heat for her at late game.
Predictable after a certain amount of time.

For runes I chose Magic Pen marks, a given, health per level seals now this can be debatable depending on you want but you can also go for flat armour if you wish but I prefer health yellows since I seem to always get away with a tiny bit of health left. And then I go for AP per level glyphs now this doesn't help you in the early levels as you get towards 18 it will greatly effect your AP and honestly is better than the flat AP runes. And of course flat AP Quints to make you as bursty as possible.

Akali is a very squishy burst champion so I dip into the Defense tree to get her that extra defense she really needs, it makes her a lot bulkier while keeping up the spell vamp you gain from Gunblade, other than that its a stand 9/21/0.

Ok so in most scenarios you should usually start off with a Doran's Blade to activate the AD part of Akali's passive which doesn't help a whole lot but its there and nice. However if you're in a solo lane or mid (It can happen sometimes, Akali is a very good mid champion!) pick up a long sword and a health potion to give you a bit more sustainability in the lane. Next when you next Recall pick up an amplifying tome to start working on your Hex-tech Revolver, buy it if you can get it but otherwise pick up an amplifying tome and boots and continue to farm to get your Revolver.

Afterwards work towards your Gunblade (Remember to sell your Doran's Blade/ Long Sword here! It will no longer benefit you as you will have your passive activated from your Gunblade!) and once you get bind it to an easy to reach key for so you can remember to use it as it will help to your burst once you've used everything, I have mine on 1 usually.

After this it is a pretty standard build towards an AP carry, but pick up your Lich Bane first for the extra burst and then move onto a Deathcap, and usually by this point the game will either be A) Over because you won/lost, B) Almost done but if this is not the case go ahead and pick up an Abyssal Scepter to gain the AP plus magic resistance which is a nice buff and a Void Staff if you can get it.

The Skill Sequence is very straightforward, start off with your Q, Mark of the Assassin which will give you burst potential at level 1 and max it first, now at level 2 you can make the choice to pick up Twilight Shroud, your W or to pick up Crescent Slash your E, if you aren't being pressured too much you can pick your E first to help you farm a little more and can leave your W until level 4, otherwise pick your W at level 2. Pick up your Ult at level 6 as always and its standard from here, Max Q, Max E, Max W.

Flash, Ghost, Ignite and Exhaust are all very good summoner spells on Akali. They all have great perks that will help her land kills on chasing targets or to escape. However I prefer to run Flash/Ignite because it gives me the ability to escape and to finish off an enemy after a burst or if I run out of Essences.

Akali's Twilight Shroud will be your best friend throughout any game, invisibility in a small area, any juker will love this. You can use her twilight shroud in order to decieve enemies while escaping or use it to juke someone it is your #1 survival skill.

The next best thing is your Ultimate, Shadow Dance. It allows you to leap to a target at the cost of an essence which you can use if you are in a lane to get away from an enemy or to get closer to one that is out of range, this skill has saved my life so many times.

Akali is VERY good at jumping from enemy to enemy, make sure to take advantage of this if you're taking too much heat from someone.
