There exists an ancient order originating in the Ionian Isles dedicated to the preservation of balance. Order, chaos, light, darkness - all things must exist in perfect harmony for such is the way of the universe. This order is known as the Kinkou and it employs a triumvirate of shadow warriors to uphold its causes in the world. Akali is one of these shadow warriors, entrusted with the sacred duty of Pruning the Tree - eliminating those who threaten the equilibrium of Valoran.

A prodigal martial artist, Akali began training with her mother as soon as she could make a fist. Her mother's discipline was relentless and unforgiving, but predicated on the fundamental principle: ''We do that which must be done.'' When the Kinkou inducted her into the order at the age of fourteen, she could slice a dangling chain with a chop of her hand. There was no question - she would succeed her mother as the Fist of Shadow. She has had to do much in this role which others might find morally questionable, but to her it is in service of her mother's inviolable doctrine. She now works with her fellows Shen and Kennen to enforce the balance of Valoran. This hallowed pursuit has unsurprisingly led the triumvirate to the Fields of Justice.

The Fist of Shadow strikes from the cover of death itself. Do not impede the balance.

***************************************************************** The Build ***********************************************************

Akali, The Fist of Shadow

Pros
- can KS anything you want if you want
- crazy high burst dmg
- amazing at harassing
- decent farmer
- can obtain buffs fairly easy
- your a flippin ninja!

Cons
- super squishy
- target of many
- enemy team will hate you after battle

************************************************************* Summoner Spells******************************************************

Ignite - this is necessary for your second passive to turn active early game. with the build i have you come in with 11 AP, and getting the enemies health lower than yours is key to harassing and starving you enemy of exp. once ignite is used you will have your bonus magic dmg. this matched with your other passive will have you healed in no time from your first skrimish. also come on, how many times have you needed that last 10 dmg to kill someone, well if you act now, IGNITE, now in a red color will have your enemy crying in agony as they watch their champion burn and die.

Ghost - another key element of Akali. Akali needs to catch up to people to do crazy OMG dmg to them. once caught up to, the enemy will again cry in agony as they watch their champion be sliced down over and over again by a flippin hot ninja with two out of control kamas. its art in motion.

************************************************************** The Masteries *********************************************************

i go 21 in offensive 8 in defensive and 1 in utility

Offensive Masteries
- Alacrity - eh sum more attack speed, not necessarily needed, but nice to have
- Sunder - just makes those hits hit that much harder.
-Sorcery - makes your already short cooldowns even nicer short cooldowns
- Archaic Knowledge - if your going AP you'll need this
- Burning Embers - gives you that 10 extra AP you need for your passive
- Brute Force - this matched with the rune and the dorans blade will give you your other passive

Defensive Masteries
- Hardness - helps early survivability
- Resistance - again helps early game
- Evasion - matched with your runes your got sum nice dodge for survivability

Utility Mastery (only one here ^.^)
- Haste - i always think if you can buff your summoner spells do it

************************************************************** Rotation *********************************************************

All fights are always dependent on the situation. All the same don't start a fight with E. Everyone will find their own rotation, its hard to say hey do this exactly because sometimes its not always the best rotation to use. so ill just give some tips on building your own rotation

the basic rotation is q,r,w,e,q,r,e,q,r. by this time they are probably long dead but this is a basic rotation that can get u used to Akali.

start off with the Mark, its your harass tool so use it as much as possible, that way they wont always know when your going to initiate. always harass as much as possible, its very important.

your main dmg abilities are q and r so those are priority when attacking someone, if your q and e are both up use the q.

make sure you always have a dance essence up unless you need it to kill someone in which case you will get another after you kill them. but your dance is a very important tool in not only killing but also in escaping.

************************************************************** Tips and Tricks *********************************************************

Akali is a ninja, act like one

- if someone is chasing you, and you are at low health sometimes its worth the chance to dance back to them and continue running that way. its a nice juke and your teammates will all go "OHHHHHHHHH!" it feels good.

- if you are getting pushed at your turret make sure you save your shroud for if they try to tower jump you, as soon as they get in the range drop the shroud, and if you are feeling lucky either throw a kama at them or dance at them, sometimes it will provoke them to stay in the tower range thinking they can get you.

- beware of aoe attacks they will still hit you while you are in your shroud. getting killed by sunfire capes is never fun.

- Know when to run and when to initiate. your a ninja not a 10 foot tall walking wall of stone, you will die fast if your reckless. stay in the back of the team and when you see the opportunity dance in, don't run in, and pop your shroud.

- watch your enemy items, if they have oracles they can see you in your shroud. also take care of wards

- you can dance through walls, if they are in your circle you can dance to them, even through walls

************************************************************** Gameplay *********************************************************

Alright lets get down to it.

Early game

you start off with the dorans blade and a health pot. pick a lane and go. having an active laning partner makes this process a lot easier. this goes for any champ anywhere. when in the lane having a competent partner is the difference between winning and losing. once you have your partner initiate a battle. you will prolly win it. waste everything you got on them, don't hold back. your not necessarily trying to kill them here but you want there life lower than yours. normally i don't use my pot in this first fight because they start to run after the first mark hits them then i hit them. that plus my partner hitting hard equals them losing. after they retreat stay in there bush alone the side. this is where you decide if you want to starve them or not. follow the appropriate letter for your next destination

A = starve the enemy

B = push the tower

A.) if you want to starve the enemy it VERY IMPORTANT that you DON'T kill any of their minions.i don't know why but some people don't understand this concept. even when in vent if i tell people not to kill the minions and they understand we are trying to starve them they still kill the minions. so remember neither of the people in the lane, you or your partner can kill the minions. now after that is understood both of you will stay in the bush at the furthest point you can toward their tower. the point of this is to keep the minions fighting as close as you can to your tower so you can keep them from the minion exp. as soon as they start to get close to the minion fight jump out of the bush and throw a mark at them. if they still seem resistant pop your shroud and hit them if they get close this will do about a quarter of their life and they will retreat and swear at you. at this point you may reply ">--(>.<)--< angry crabs" then say "you got em" its just fun. rinse wash and repeat and they will stay level one as long as nobody from another lane comes to help. i have kept people at level one for 6 min once.

B.) pushing the tower... there really isn't that much to it...push the tower. normally i would try to still harass them with the Mark, harassing is really important. but make sure when u get the chance you use your crescent slash in the middle of the minions, it does aight dmg and heals u with both your passives. but really this is just the bread and butter of LoL pushing towers, if u still need help doing it this isn't the guide.

so either way normally i stay in the lane until i get 1000-1500ish gold and go back when i get the chance and when i say get the chance i mean either I'm low life and need to go back anyway, the other team is dead, or im dead.

when i go back depending on the situation i either get my giants belt or my boots of swiftness. if im getting hurt a little get the belt if im killing them more i get the boots to kill them better. by the second time you go back if doing good, if your doing bad then this build has already failed or you have have failed, or your partner has failed, but either way, by the second time you go back you should be able to finish off the rylais scepter and maybe get an amplifying tome. if you dont have enough for the tome come back as soon as possible as you want to start getting stacks on it as fast as you can. by this point you should be moving through out the board ganking people, while you are moving through make sure to kill the jungle creeps for extra gold and exp. and soon you will find yourself transitioning to what is called Mid game.

Mid game

hopefully by now you got your boots, your Rylais scepter, and your mejais. if not YOU FAIL! jk ^.^ but seriously... get em. team fights might be starting around now. if so remember, you are not the tank nor the second initiator...or the third , or fourth.......you guessed it, your the fifth! in all reality though you don't have to go in last but just make sure you don't go in first, the shroud will not always save you. you are like twitch, or eve, your a sneaky beaver

at this point you must make a decision, will you stand by and let you teammates get the kills they deserve, or will you KS every single kill you see. Akali has the choice to KS anything with her dance, and sometimes even if you do KS you will be praised at the end of the game for tearing up the other team so hard even if all the kills you got were not exactly legit.

but anyway as your going build the Zhonyas ring next, and make sure to SET IT to the slot you use, i use 2 but just make sure you set it. to many times i hear of people setting items and not using them. once you have this you can be a lot more risky with your attacks such going in first and using zhonyas right away. its risky but will help the team.

End game

by now you got your boots, your Rylais scepter, and your mejais, and your Zhonyas. last thing to build is the Lich bane. i know i got a void staff up there but realistically you prolly wont play for that long. i only have gotten the full build a couple times myself, which is kind of one reason i like this build, your never going to say woot my builds done....oh wait now i cant use money. i start off with the sheen as it builds into the lich bane. this will fill the inventory, i usually don't sell the dorans sword yet but by the time you finish your lich bane you can sell it to get a blasting wand that builds into a void staff. at this point you really don't need the life steal, you just burst them down so fast they barely do dmg back, and the void staff is just because by now everyone is stacking MR to defend against you.

while at this stage in the game it is very viable to tower jump the squishy people hiding in the back, its an initiator for your team and the squishy will die very fast. then use your zhonya and after you come out clean up for the penta. normally i only get the quadra, i have bad luck somehow someone else always kills one.

side note about penta kills, if you see someone has gotten a quadra kill the DO NOT kill the last person, let them for the penta....unless you really really hate them.

************************************************************** End Notes *********************************************************

This is my build, any other build is not my build, lets say a build by Nazori, that would not be my build, but a build by Gurr, now that would be a build by me. this is how i play Akali, and it works for me. if you are not me there is a slight chance you will not play the same as me, and therefore this build might not be for you.

this build is also just meant to show people a starting point on how to use Akali as an AP champion. i know there are hybrid builds but i play her AP, im not here to argue which is better, just to show my AP build

also im not really looking for changes to my build so no need to tell me "hay, you should use one of them there hexblades, i recon it'll equal out to quite the dmg output." this is just the way i play, and again, its meant to show how i play.

but let me know if there are any questions about how to play her with this build if anything is not clear.
