Hello, and welcome to my guide!

Lets get to the point, shall we?

So you just bought this wicked hero, and you want some insight?

So this is the down low on Akali, Fist of the Shadow.
You want the good news first or the bad news?
Good news it is then.

Upsides
- Easily slays squishies, which is a large portion of the heroes
- Can safely check brushes for 5 man ambush via Twilight Shroud
- Epic killstealer, which racks up points for your Soul Stealer
- Easily slays squishies, which is a large portion of the heroes
- Enemies tend to focus you, which makes a great kite
[For those who don't know, a kite is when a low health champion
stays out of range of chasing enemies, while teammates pick them off]

Downsides
- Getting kills is difficult until you hit level 6
- If you die about 3 times early game, you are useless
- If you are under leveled, you are useless (more then other characters)

Alight, so now you got the basics. This is how i recommend you start a game:

First, sweet talk the shopkeeper to selling you a Lich Bane for 475g. If that doesn't work, go ahead and buy a Dorans Blade and a Health Potion.

*Note: If you have bought the 1 Physical Damage Quintessence, you get half of Akali's passive through the simple math of: Dorans blade +4
Brute Force Mastery +3
Physical Damage Quintessence +2.25
Havoc Mastery x1.05
that makes a grand total of... 9.7125

I'm sure something else fills in the other 0.3 Physical Damage cause it gives me the spell vamp passive whenever I start like this 8D

Once you get to lane, you should quickly click both heroes, to check their items. Then go after who has the least amount of health regen/lifesteal.

Now its time for build order and reasoning (yay!)

1. Dorans Blade- You have 20 health without this item. It gives you half your passive and a teensy bit of lifesteal, so hopefully Mundo and Teemo over there will go after Yi instead of you. (haha get it? yi and you?)

2. Mejai's Soulstealer- Gives your AP a huge boost, even if you have a bunch of assists. Late game this item gives you better survivability then Guardian Angel. How? It keeps you away from running into disadvantageous fights, in fear of loosing those precious Soul Engorgement stacks.

3. Mercury Treads- Magic resist, and gets you out of stun quick. Unless the other team are all DPS and have nothing to stop/slow your movement, get these. If they are, get Boots of Swiftness.

4. Guinsoo's Rageblade- Gives a bit more to both passives, and amps up your AP 48 points during any use of 8 attacks/abilities for a short while. It will also give you a bit more spell vamp, and keep it there if you sell your Dorans Blade at late game.

5. Lich Bane- I know you think its a waste cause it gives mana, but I think its totally worth it. Even if you have 0 stacks on your Soulstealer (which you shouldn't) it still deals a bonus 192 damage, which increases with more stacks you get and as the game progresses.

6. Sight Ward: Right about now you should buy one of these, and shove it in front of Nashor Baron's den. It's a good way to get ahead, or stay ahead. If you ward Baron, and their entire team runs into kill it, you will see them coming, and just get your entire team to fly in and get that Ace. Make sure your entire team is ready to attack, or else you shall be doing the dying.

7. Zhonias Ring- The item that starts arguments. Okay, Akali is a Ability Power based hero. Zhonias Ring gives you Ability Power. HOW CAN YOU ARGUE THIS?!?

8. If you got this far into the game, your doin' it wrong. Shoulda made them surrender about 30 minutes ago. But anyhow sell the Dorans Blade, and pick up anything you might think will be good. If you cant think of anything, get another Zhonia's Ring.

This is how you gank.

Mark of the Assasin
Shadow Dance
Cresent Slash
Twilight Shroud any escape routes
Mark + Cresent whenever they come off cooldown
*If they begin to run, Mark of the Assasin them first, then Shadow Dance.
