you should get a gunblade instead of wota, since ur not gonna have a source of AD for the other half of the passive. also, lich bane

The comments above said all I was going to say.

Quoted:
Lich Bane - Yeah, AP is nice. AP boosting your AD to epic proportion is seriously nice. But you're paying for mana you don't need and I've never had an issue where I needed more Mag Res. You're paying for **** you don't need.

No. I'm sorry but that statement is just horribly wrong. You NEEEEED Lich Bane. Lich Bane along with Rylais are two of the best items on Akali, period. Yes, the mana is useless, the AP is nice, the magic resist is somewhat helpful but the PASSIVE is what matters. The passive gained from it doubles, if not triples your second hit burst. The fact that its not in your core items is quite astonishing, i'll be honest.

Second, Gunblade is most certainly a better option than WoTA. Akali is a burst champion that should be exceptionally skilled at nuking the **** out of carries. Her role is not to support the team with auras from WoTA, Starks, ETC. The revolver portion of WoTA is really all you need, the extra AP and aura basically make it a novelty item. I suggest running gunblade, just as others have mentioned.

Lastly, I would recommend running boots + 3 health potions rather than a Doran's at level 1. With your current runes and masteries, you already trigger your passives at level 1, and with boots, 3 HP, and your natural spell vamp you actually have more sustain than you would with a dorans. Not to mention, the lifesteal from Doran's becomes kind of irrelevant due to the fact that your never really going to be auto-attacking in lane, whether it's on a minion or a champion.

You have quite a solid build, but you severely underestimate some of Akali's core items.

You extremely underestimate Lich Bane, i think. It's not worth its price because of the AP or the movement speed, it's worth it, because of its passive, that'll make you beat the hell out of your enemies. Dealing your full AP amount as bonus damage after every skill you used is a tremendous boost to your burst damage output. If you got a Rabadon's too, your damage will be absurd. Calling this passive ****, you don't use, is totaly wrong, dude, I'm sorry.

I also don't like getting WotA instead of a Gunblade. It's not that cheap after all and for around 1000 gold more, you get a MUCH better item. You'll also won't take much use of WotA's passive, i suppose.

I would think over this points once again and you should definitly give Lich Bane a try.

Gunblade > WotA

You get addition ap, spell vamp, life steal and AD (for your passive)

After you sell ur dorans, you dont have a spec of AD, making the other half of your passive unused.

WotA is just cheaper and gets your Void Staff out easier. Gunblade is way too expensive and the ap/spell vamp is lower than Will and costs more than twice as much. And yeah, you're right after I sell my Doran's I don't get my 10% passive SpellVamp anymore but at lvl 18 I have enough SpellVamp and AP to cover that just fine. If you're still unhappy bout that just grab an Elixer or something.

And yeah, the examples were less to show off the build and more to say 'Hey. I ****in' know Akali.' It's the Pentakill that really locked in Will of the Ancients > Gunblade for me.

And for the items you suggested... Meh. I wrote why I don't pick Lich Bane. Waste of money. Paying for **** you don't use.

you write to get will of the ancients but in the scores, you always get gunblade :/

I like the build, except I would take a gunblade (like you did in the scores), I think +3 boots are useless, you would be better off going sorc. shoes or mercs. Also, if you go full ap, I suggest getting a lich bane somehwhere in there. Otherwise, decent build I suppose.
