Hextech Gunblade is not useless as it gives the same lifesteal as a bloodthister and 3/4 of the damage (without stacks) but at the same time giving ability power and spell vamp. Spell vamp is very useful on Akali because she does most of her farming and pking with her spells. The Hextech Gunblade is a great item for hybrids and a good slow for the more advanced players. As for the build I Like it :p the items may be expencive but it is very worth it. If you are serious about playing LoL in tournaments or such You would not buy any snowballing items in those games so they are not normally put into serious builds. The build is very good but i would suggest some cooldown reduction in there somewhere. +1

If there is a jungler I would rush Rylai's first rather than guinsoo's because having the slow is very essential in getting those early kills. As far as the snowball items, just do whatever works for you, I personally don't use them because I play very aggressively and found after playing over 200games with her that they aren't nearly as good as the consistent stats for my play style. It's to easy to lose stacks and when you do you lose to much, snowballs both ways. My main reason for writing this guide was actually to highlight my rune choices. Nice build, worked out great for me but one question. What if you are mid and have a jungler on your team so you dont have access to red buff early on? And like Overdozed said what about the snowball items?

Good build but I go whit snowball item if I really rock in the game just try it :D first game whit it 23/4/12 On a 5v5 game

Nice build, I thought the runes were a bit stupid at first but after playing about 10 games with this build I have to say you were right. Great build, I will be using this when I play Akali from now on
