Hi again, new guide this time. I took to playing Akali on a whim and have discovered just how wonderful an assassin she really can be. If you've ever seen her tearing through the enemy (or you, depending on what team she's on) you can note just how powerful she is when build and used properly. Let us begin...

Akali's damage come purely from her Ability Power. Her passive, Twin Disciplines increases her damage based on the amount of AP you have. This means that the stronger you make her, the stronger she makes herself. Broken? I don't care, I love it.

We start with the boots because, lets face it, shes squishy... and an assassin. So boots are the obvious first choice. We follow that with the Hextec Revolver to give that extra AP damage as well as a little Spell Steal. The spell steal is just a nice bonus, again, she's a squishy, so if you're taking damage, a little life steal won't save you.

The most important item however is the Rylai's Crystal Scepter. Every attack Akali uses (including her auto attack) does magic damage. This means that every attack she uses will slow the enemy. There's nothing like doing a ******ed amount of damage AND being impossible to evade.

Akali is a squishy, as I said earlier. This means that your fight will be on the edges of team fights. Your whole goal is to avoid being targeted.

One of the best strategies for avoiding fire is using Twilight Shroud before engaging an enemy and hoping a) they walk into the shroud, or b) they position themselves such that you are able to quickly hit the enemy and run into the shroud. Remember, the best way to mitigate damage is to never be targeted in the first place.

That being said. Use your head when engaging. You may not need to use Twilight Shroud in every fight and it is an excellent method of evading the enemy if a fight goes the wrong way. A quick tip for slipping through even the tightest laid nets is to pop Twilight Shroud, then once you are cloaked run the OPPOSITE direct, toward your opponent. I know, you're probably thinking LOLWTF IS THIS GUY TALKING ABOUT? Well here's the thing... just as you wouldn't think to chase that way, they won't either. Success rate increases largely. YOU ARE A NINJA :D

I chose Flash and Ghost. Both of these are used more for early level ganking and late level escaping. To be completely honest, you can use most any of the skills effectively with Akali, these are just my choice because I like the ability to ditch dicey situations and ganks.

Akali is a very powerful character, and when build and used correctly is impossible to defend against or beat. Using her superior movement speed, incredible attack strength, and epic ninja antics, she shines as the best of the best.

In closing:
1) the best defense is never getting shot at in the first place
2) Akali is a straight AP character
3) Rylai's Crystal Scepter is the cornerstone of her ability to dominate
4) Almost any skill is viable for use
