This is not what I would call a "mid" build for Akali. Starting without both disciplines at lvl 1? Leviathan? To many snowball items, if you are going to use three snowballers at least build GA but I wouldn't advise it either way, any good team is going to try to focus you because of Akali's insane burst. It only takes a couple deaths to make you regret going this route. You would be much better off with items that provide consistent stats. Lichbane(far greater than any snowball item) is pretty essential for Akali and Hextech is extremely good as well. Cdr glyphs? Your cooldowns are already less than five seconds you will find yourself out of energy spamming them more than that. Armor pen quins, Why? Magic pen quins, ability power quins, both are better than armor pen for Akali. There is a good rune set up(requires appropriate spec) that allows you to start at lvl one with both disciplines and a dorans blade, you won't find much more early game survivability than that.
