I'm gonna take these into consideration and play some more AP hecarim mid games to see how they go with your ideas. But ill clarify why I haven't done these things up till now. 1) Building Lichbane dosent actualy lower your DPS. Hecarim will have around 100 attack damage. By the time lichbane is built, with runes and masteries you should be over 100 AP. The AP will also help his W and R which is where the majority of his damage his comming from. The movement speed bonus from building lichbane first also helps. However I could be wrong here so I will try going into other AP items first. 2) His W has pretty powerful spell vamp as it is. I was thinking just going straight for the AP items would help boost both his vamp and survivability a lot more. But its possible that WoTA could significantly help him sustain.
