NO! This is a terrible way to play AP Janna. I won't deny that it works to some degree, but if you want to be an AP beast, do the following:

• start with your shield, as it is your strongest lvl 1 skill to duel and last-hit.
• Start with and buy more early AP. Why would you need boots when you are the fastest thing anyway ? Since Janna only needs one q to clear a wave, there is absolutly no reason for all that Mana. Get a pot if you have to until you buy your mana item mid game, when when you have enough AP.
• Scaling Mana seals are dubious. Armor or AP. You shouldn't need them on top of mana items late game.

Go watch Zekent if you want to see how AP Janna works.

Edit: I don't object to skipping your ult though. You might need it in some situations, but as Janna relies more on pushing the wave and on her immense rank 5 slow, its clearly an option. Only rank your ult when you need it.

At least you're having a wrong skill sequence

After a long discussion with the guide author, I have come to the conclusion that he has no idea how to play the game.

To put a 2-page discussion briefly:

He tried to convince me that you don't need to level the ultimate at level 6 on at least 3 different champions (that aren't champions like Udyr, Jayce, Elise, Karma, etc), then said that the meta is bad (which means all the pros that use the meta are obviously bad as well), tried to convince me that taking a 2nd level in Eye of the Storm at level 6 is better than taking a level in Monsoon at level 6, and then tried to support his arguments by using DotA and HoN comparisons (in fairness, they are similar games, but were and are completely irrelevant to the argument on hand which was leveling abilities).

tl;dr This guy doesn't even know how this game works or why.

First off, you can't max your skills like that. And I think Janna is just like Ahri, she just can't stack Tear of the Goddess like Anivia or Swain — all of her cooldowns are around 10 seconds. She can't reach the mana cap as quick as another champs.

So many needless videos and embeds and stuff. And the part where you say that you built Guinsoo's on Ahri made me laugh the **** out of myself.

Obvious voting smurfs are obvious. Not to mention that the skill build is stupid.
