Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
Welcome to my Blitzcrank guide. Blitz is an excellent champ for many roles and he has many builds and strategies, this is just one, it works for me and it's fun to play, but it may not be for you.
Blitz can reasonable play support, off tank, top lane bruiser(I've heard he can even jungle well) but this guide is focused on Blitz's ability to support bot lane and feed his AD carry.
If your carry is good and you play your role reasonably well you will faceroll. All the time. People will fear your robo grabs of awesomeness as you face punch them after pulling them into a hug.
You may prefer a different rune build(which is understandable) but this guild gives you some Pen, some Armor, and some base AP(because you don't get any AP damage until you finish your RoA)
Important things to get in these masteries are the CDR, and the bonus gold at level 1. The bonus gold is very important because it allows you to buy a health pot, mana crystal, AND a ward.
There are a variety that work here. I usually go Heal and Exhaust because Blitz has no natural sustain for your carry so you can heal to save them or give them the advantage in a fight. Exhaust helps ensure a kill for your carry, or help him escape.
Remember: Your life is not nearly as valuable as your carry's. If you are 0/4 7 mins in it is perfectly fine because your carry should be 5/0. Your deaths should always either secure a kill for him or save his life.
This item build may be surprising(and downright foolish) to some of you. But this guide gives you damage, mana, health, and armor. All are very important for your job as an off tank.
Starting with the mana, pot, and ward is essential. You need the mana to not completely starve yourself, you need the pot because you WILL take a beating to the face, and you need the ward because of those Leven 2 Shaco ganks -.-
After you go back(usually your first death) try to get boots and a Heart of Gold to increase your gold flow.
Next purchase will be Catalyst, then Sorc Shoes, then finally your RoA.
After your RoA you have some options. If they have an AD heavy team build Frozen Heart right away completely. If they have a balanced team I usually build Glacial Shroud for the CDR and Armor. If they have an AP heavy team(if their Mid is dominating) then I get Abyssal right away then Frozen Heart)
After you have your core build of RoA, Frozen Heart, and Abyssal Scepter you can shake it up a bit. If you need survivability you can get a Thornmails or Banshees or Force of Nature. If you are facerolling you can get Rabadon's or Rylais, or Lich Bane, or Zhonya's for more damage.
Remember during all these purchases ALWAYS buy wards! Usually 2 each time you go back. You need to ward ward ward. Always. All the time.
This build is where you differ from traditional supports. Most supports are incredible early game and absolutely worthless late game because they get focused so hard. As Wincrank you will dash into the fight, grab the enemy squishies, beat their face in, run into the enemy team, hit your ult, and then grab the fleeing squishies from running. If they don't want to face their inevitable doom like a man then you will FORCE them to face it like the little girl they are!
This is not as essential. You can mix this up if you want. But I ALWAYS get Grab at Level 1 and Power Fist at Level 2. I usually level Overdrive in the mid game because it is a percentage based skill. It does not help you as much before you have full boots. It's much better to have low cooldowns for your Rocket Grab and Power Fist.
Here are the pros and cons for Blitz as a bot support.
-One of the best initiation moves in the game with your Rocket Grab
-Tanky support who can't simply be bursted down like traditional sustain supports
-Actually useful late game
-Great chasing/escape as well as the ability to prevent squishies from leaving a fight
-No sustain so your carry can get lower than other's without sustain
-His Rocket Grab, if used poorly, can hurt your team if you pull a tank and not a carry
-His entire usefulness lives and dies on one skill shot.
