Master Yi Build
Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
This build is very simple, efficient, and over-all fun. It allows for great survivability, burst, and control.
Pros: Great farmer, easy harass early and late game(poker), very "tank-able"
Cons: Not too great of a late game carry
While laning with this build your main focus is Alpha Strike, it allows you to "poke" and farm at the very same time, try not to spam it too much early game though. Wait until about level 3 or 5 before you start doing major harassing and farming. At level 7, and there on after attempt to control both blue buffs for it's essential for this build. The blue buff will allow you to spam your Alpha Strike and Meditation endlessly.
After you've reached level 7, acquired a blue buff, and possibly red, set out for ganks. It's important to try and stack up your Mejai's early on in the game while their players are still vulnerable. But if you're not comfortable with ganking, just stay in a double lane and try to push with a partner, harass the opposing team with your Alpha Strike and back up once you're low, hide in a bush and Meditate. If the opponents decide to play aggressive, just pop your ultimate, keep a good distance away from their hero, Meditate, and Alpha strike when they're in range. Rinse and repeat this strategy until they've backed, or until his been slain. Kiting is essential when going up against multiple heroes or heroes who pose potential threat.
In team fights as AP Yi, it isn't quite necessary to stay in back of the crowd. Go right on ahead and charge in with Alpha Strike, that is if they have no stuns. With the amount of AP you have during this stage of the game, you should be able to tank up to 3 heroes without taking any damage with your Meditation alone, so go ahead be reckless! Rush into a group, and meditate admidst the battle!
If you have any questions and/or comments about this thread please go ahead and post away, I'm new to Mobafire, so I'm not too familiar with the codings so no links for the time being, sorry in advance. Thank you for taking your time to read this, and I hope you enjoyed it!
