Xin Zhao Build
Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
Welcome to my build! This is my first guide and I would be more than happy to show you how I play Xin Zhao in any casual lane (preferably top). Xin Zhao is a great champion with an awesome passive which I get to utilize with this build. You get to be OP early and late game, but you somewhat become a bit weaker in mid game. So let's get started!
Pros / Cons
Melts squishy champions with 2 hits.
Negates any form of armor.
Very strong early and late game.
Very squishy mid and early game.
High mana costs.
Kind of weak mid game.
Takes some dedication to fully master and play good with.
Who doesn't have any runes? You would be extremely weak early game without any runes! I go flat ad marks, flat armor seals, flat magic resistance glyphs, and flat armor penetration quintessences. This is my favorite rune setup for most of my champion since you get to be a bit more tanky early game and you get to deal a lot of damage with the armor pen quintessences. This is the ultimate combination for me. You can go flat ad everything, but I do NOT recommend that!
Masteries are like free runes, always use them! Try to go for a standard 21/9/0 ad carry page. If you cannot afford the extra 9 masteries, then spend all of them on offence.
Ahh the items, I guess I owe you some explanation for my ******ed build. This build focuses on Xin's passive, which reduces the enemy's armor by 15 % for 5 seconds. Imagine you had a Darius with 200 armor. 200 x 0.85 = 170. Great, now add the black cleaver's passive. Let's say you hit the Darius 3 times in a row, so it's: 170 - (15 + 15 + 15) = 170 - 45 = 125. That's good, he doesn't seem to be that tanky anymore. How about we add 56 % armor pen.? Shall we?
125 x 56 % = 125 x 0.44 = 55. That's how hard you penetrate (if you know what I mean). I don't think I have to do any more calculations, you probably got the point. If you add a phantom dancer and Xin Zhao's W spell, then we will definitely kill that Darius in about 6 hits.
You also might be thinking about the phage? well it helps you struggle in that mid game phase. It will also help you catch up with enemies since Xin Zhao has a very short leap with a mediocre cool down and we don't want to waste that immediately. It will also give Xin Zhao the tankiness he needs late game. Imagine that with a guardian's angel and 5 enemies that were struck with Xin's ultimate...
I'm not going to write a lot of stuff here, but I just wanted to note that Xin Zhao works extremely good with a Blitzcrank by his side. A pull and a knock up will most definitely help Xin get fed so easily. He can also knock up the enemy directly after the enemy got knocked up!
I have nothing to say here except that you should always max out your Q first then your W. You should also grab your ultimate whenever you can.
It would be wise to pick exhaust if your not laning with a person who doesn't have it. However I would recommend taking heal since you will have to jump in he team fights and stay there for a few seconds. Ignite can also be a useful spell for those 'kill secures'. Oh, and remember that flash is always a MUST unless you're jungling or if you're Garen, Shaco, or Ezreal.
Remember to farm a lot, this build is very expensive thus it is better late game. 10 minion kills is roughly about a kill, so remember to farm a lot!
You are now ready to go rape enemy Shens and Malphites with this build! What are you waiting for? Start finding a match!
