I've actually out-DPS'd a Jax late game using my tanky DPS build. I gave your build a try, and it does work, but I was still out DPS'd by Tryndamere on my team. I haven't tried it ranked yet. For some reason I found I did more damage going tanky. I think this is because I live longer and can win fights easier. I have found that yes, this build is viable, and just another way to play Shyvana. I guess that's another one of Shyvana's strengths. You can build her multiple ways.

I sincerely appreciate ya going back and actually trying the build after ya state an opinion ya dont find many people who do that now and days. and ya unfortunately its pretty hard to out dps a tryn. i could build a atk speed/crit build that would probably come alot closer to his dps output but your a hell of alot less survivable and alot easily countered so thats outta the question.

all in all im pretty sure my build would contribute alot more late game in team fights like a tanky dps if i had more survivability to rely on. ive tried the tanky builds and my only problem with the tanky dps builds is relying on the grinding farming and mainly assists beginning and mid game for feed.

im just an impatient person and i find that without a good team to rely on til you get the late game build your not helping your team much mid game and my team ends up giving them the upper hand and we lose too much too early before i could do anything worthwhile..

so im gonna definately experiment more and hopefully find a middle ground thatll give ya the great dps too get alot of kills early and mid game for feed like mine does but than itll focus on survivability for the late game like a tanky dps would. ive got no problem rewriting my build if i find a much better build for shyvana to follow by

No defense...? At ALL...? You should not build no defense on ANY champion. Ever. Shyvana has so much potential as Tanky Deeps, and you're building her like Yi. If you want a straight AD carry, get a straight AD carry. Shyvana has more potential than this. In my opinion, replace the Ghostblade with a Mallet and the Stark's with a Wriggle's or something. It also seems to me like this build depends on getting fed and playing against idiots who don't know how to counter Shyvana. (IE, buying a ****ing thornmail and CCing her.) It's a very nice DPS build for normals... But in ranked or against competent players in general, it won't work.

Ive had no problems using this build in ranked, yes you gotta play smarter in ranked games i know that very well.

I believe her potential lies in being a straight ad carry cause no matter how much armor or thornmail people buy the amount of armor pen, damage, and life steal counter acts that. and plus your constantly doing magic damage from the madred bloodrazors and burnout. Im not saying ive never bought armor situational for games i just find on the average game I never need it.

I believe shes much more of a better AD carry than yi, tryn, or or any other champ can hope to be. and everyone thinks she has so much more potential as tanky dps.. maybe she does but i havent seen a truly competent build that does more than just keep ya alive. i want a build that rapes and honestly i havent found that playing tanky dps.

Dont build yomumu - hextech and with cutlass you get cc and damage at start + is a better and overall cheaper options in stats comparison, 2 points in crit are enough, then 2 im ap scaling (helps for ulti and e passive procs) and 2 more in brute force - more ad more damage to w
Bloodrazor isnt effective while Sunfury gives great synergy and the hp that she needs for teamfights.
Last id always pick Aegis of the legion since its ultra effective stats vise to its cheap cost and gives a aura (almost noone picks it up lately, not even support)
If the enemy has Karthus or is generally AP heavy id rush for a hexdrinker after starks.
Oh and sell zerkers for merc boots later on.

Ill take into consideration replacing youmuu's with hextech after some testing b.c the cc might work out better and the spell vamp might help more than i thought. as for the sunfury and aegis they just go against my build. I dont like having a shyv that does moderate dmg and does most of its damage just chilling in the brawl doing moderate AoE, its just not my style. I enjoy having a build where i jump in and rape their strongest champ within secs and aim for the rest and just demoralizing their whole team in the process. and you just cant get that effect in my opinion if you off track on survivabilty items. its always gonna be w.e your preference is when you get down too it.

interesting, but it makes no sense to me to starks ferver off of your recurve bow, instead of building wit's end for the double proc on q. I love auto attacking minions as the quickest way to get your ulti form back and a little lifesteal I've enjoyed. My question is are ArPen runes still worth it with all this talk about 3/4 of my damage is magic damage. Also, I see no reason in building the bloodrazor -- I'd rather use more auto attacks on minions, its pretty easy to see the newb Shy in a game, based on how often they actually fill their Fury gauge. Also I was wondering if theres every "to much" armor/Mres on Shy. I've hated every build on Shy where I've stacked any amount of health, but I've had some crazy silly fun buying a simple thorn mail and walking around with 200 armor. I found more survivability from wits end/thorn mail/sanguine blades than any Phage/Frozen Hammer builds and while I believe there might be a better item to build after wit's end, I havn't found a favorite.

I understand and its all just about how you choose to play her, theres no doubt wit's end is a great item for her I just find I've got better survivabilty cause I'm usually rustling through the jungle if im not ganking a lane.

I didnt create this build just for her ult and I just happen to find out when you have your ult more often it gives ya so many more oppurtunities to gank unsuspecting champs, I love just chilling in a bush and pouncing on a champ, kill em, walk back to your jungle, get an ult and than do it all again.

It's all personal preference in the end, I just find that if your actually good with shyvana and learn how to implement this build currectly, ya snowball to amazing beginning, middle and late game champ. but its a snowball none the less, I have snowballed mid game and ive snowballed late game its just how well you can implement your damage.

i've just never been big on survivability in general on any champs I play assassin rolls in

ya but just the satisfaction of all the irritation and screams of "OP CHAMP!" at the end of the match from the enemy team was well worth 1000 ip.. at least :D

her ap is worthless but she does end up doing alot of magic damage. for example he W skales with AD but does magic dmg. so even if you play her as an ad carry she ends up doing about 1/3 at least magic damage, and when i build her as an off-tank i do half magic damage. so in my opinion lifesteal isnt something you should stack on Shyvana, but thank you for your hard work on the detailed guide :)

I can totally see that I mistook what he meant than, this build is more about spamming twin blade(which is a physical damage skill) cause of the constant CD from the passive skill and your incredible atk speed. I still find the amount of life she recieves works well enough to keep me sustained during team fights end game, and all the items still fall in line with with either bonus atk speed or more AD and those are enough to keep the lifesteal worthwhile in my build.

I understand she was meant more for a dps off-tank build but I'm just bringing to the table a new way to play her and its worked alot better for me to be able to just kill anyone b4 they can kill me kinda tactics, than to just tank it all and deal lesser damage. its all about play style and I'm too use to playing akali, kat, leblanc, vayne and shaco and those kinda champions all about kill or be killed and thats just how I enjoy to play
