I have played close to 100 games with bard at the time of writing this guide. with all of my experience with him, I cannot understand why people build him with AP. his scaling is poor and the only damaging ability he has is his Q, this means that in a fight you can get one good hit, then your useless. yes his W does also scale off his AP, but, and this is a big but, he is not a medic. every other healing champion in LoL can do this job better, so if you picked him for the heals, pick something else, anything else.

In my opinion, he is a Utility champion with surprising burst potential and if built as a tank, very hard to kill.
