Introduction

This is an uptdate of my first build I made before playing many times with Master Yi like ayear ago. This is a guide that will lead you always to victory (or at least, will give you lots of kills when loosing in a noob team).

Its based basically on using the gold in a different way in order to always be one step ahead from the enemy... The sacrifice: Your boots. Its common for people to use his gold in some good boots, well, I came to the big conclusion that boots just slows you in the way to become unstoppable and phantom dancers are just simply perfect to have an acceptable 432 movement speed (or 501 if you buy one more phantom dancer what would also allow you to have 100% critical chance with a waste of 19% because it is really 119% critical chance).

So, not using boots allows you to have one phantom dancer in early game an have a real advantage over your enemies. If they try to run, use your ultimate (which will cool down after the kill) and just finish him. Ghost is also a good option.

Master Yi story and basic stats

Keeper of the ancient art of Wuju, Master Yi is a mystical warrior from the isle of Ionia. He descended from one of the few tribes dedicated to the preservation of Wuju, a martial art founded with the principles of absolute spiritual awareness of one's self and one's enemy. When the armies of Noxus invaded Ionia, Master Yi joined in the Ionian defense to fight the craven enemy, bringing his village honor through his unparalleled mastery of the blade. The ensuing battles ravaged the land, but no conflict inflicted as much horror as the day the armies of Noxus closed in on Yi's village. Left undefended, the village became the unfortunate test subject of the latest invention by an up-and-coming chemist, now known as Singed. The remains of the village that Master Yi returned to were so horrific that it remains a festering scar on Ionian history. To this day, no Ionian will ever publicly speak of what occurred.

After the Noxian invasion was contained, Master Yi fell into a deep isolation. For years, he trained morning to night, speaking to no one and refusing offers of consolation by fellow Ionians. The only thing stopping him from madly charging into Noxus battle lines headfirst was his pledge to keep the Wuju style alive. Even though he seethed with impatience, his rage became a tool for sharpening his practice of Wuju, developing stronger and deadlier skills for his eventual vengeance. The only thing that roused him was news of the League's formation, and Noxus' subsequent enrollment in the League. Master Yi now brings his mastery of the blade to the League of Legends with unflinching purpose: to avenge his kinfolk and end the predations of the Noxus once and for all.

''The art of Wuju lives on in Master Yi, and is plunged through the hearts of his foes.''

Runes

Greater Mark of Desolation: Armor penetration is simply perfect to have advantage mainly in late game when enemies are well armored. But don't forget also that is also extremely useful early game when your attacks ignore 25 armor, while basic AD carries start with about 15.

Greater Seal of Evasion: More survivability. Have you ever seen an enemie champ that has like 2 HP and your last hit misses? Well, thats why I always choose this runes because you are gonna dodge 1 of every 15 attacks.

Greater Glyph of Furor: Improve even more your critical damages.

Greater Quintessence of Desolation: Just like the marks of desolation: advantage when fighting enemies with heavy armors and insane damage to carries in early game.

Items

As i said, start building a phantom dancer. Be aware in early game from ganks because it will be a bit difficult to run without ghost or your ultimate till you get the second zeal. I used this because it allows you to have 30% critical strikes just with your first weapon and and incredible boost of attack speed of 55%. Movement will be increased 15% what will make jet not always you as fast as your opponents but you will be an enemy to be fear of. So your ultimate will be very important till you get the second phantom and reach top speed (which is over the average).

So, once you have the phantom, buy zeal in order to be faster than normal enemies and have some extra attack speed and critical chance.

Before getting your first BF sword, get a vampire scepter in order to have 15% lifesteal (with masteries).

Now its time for the Big Weapons, in order to start with double, triple (an so on) Kills. Get the infinity edge to have a more powerful critical strike and increase considerably your base damage.

The only weapon you will need to survive in a team fight is The Bloodthirstier. It would increase your damage even more and you will heal so fast while hitting.

So, combined with the bloodthirstier you must buy the frozen mallet, in order to get more HP (that BT can heal) and to reduce enemies movement speed ones you catch them with your alpha strike.

Intermediately go straight ahead for your second phantom and your enemies will be terrified because of your insane speed with No boots. (and you will have an incredible 94% of critical strikes attacks.

The 6th weapon would depend from game, so there are some options:

Guardian angel or Warmogs:Use it when you cant kill them all without dying. Any of this two armor will allow you to stand more time alive into battle and take down more enemies. (more HP means more heatl your BT can give you.

Phantom Dancer: Speed is not enough? A third phantom will take you to the 100% critical strikes and an insane speed. I do not always use this phantom because theres a waste of benefits (like the 119% of criticals thats the same than 100% and its not too far away from the 90% you have without it. Anyways, if you still wanna run and hit faster, get the phantom as your 6th weapon.

The bloodthirstier: Increase even more your life steal and your damage (and so your critical strike damage). This weapon will allow you to Regen very fast while killing.

-Quicksilver Sash: Stop exhaust, fears or any kind of negative spells that could make you loose the advantage of speed.

Other options:

-Black cleaver: Decrease enemies defenses while you also become faster and much stronger
-Youmuus Ghostblade: When activate you will feel the real sensation of speed.

Skill sequence

When leveling up there are just 3 rules that must be followed:

1.Always give privilege to the Ultimate when leveling up.

2.Have meditateat least at level 1 in order to fight possible poison or ignite you carry when going out of fight.

3.Have alpha strike at least at level 1 in order to easily catch enemies that run away or to have it as a resource to be untargetable if getting focused on team fights.

Summoner spells

Ignite will be used mainly for early kills when your top speed is not reached. It is also useful for team battles when any enemy tries to run and you are occupied killing another.

Ghost is the spell you will need when trying a multi kill. After a team fight, use your ultimate combined with ghost and you surely will have a double or triple kill catching the runner enemies.

Other spells:
You probably are not going to need it because of your insane speed, but may be useful to avoid a gank or for near-tower kills.
If you really need such a thing buy as a 6th weapon a quicksilver sash.
You can gain some money, do back, and return without being notice. Huge surprise in damage for a confident enemy. Well, nice spell but shall i take out ghost or ignite? I prefer those than this spell because your speed will be enough to reach the point you need and back can be safely don with a little push.
eeee....no!
You are not gonna die continuously so dont tak this
Jungling? This spell will be useful just the first levels, so its a waste because you can easily kill any minion when you get your first phantom.
Could make the difference when fighting many enemies but if theres a 5 team focus on you, theres nothing that can be done. You wanna stay longer in line: Use Meditate!
This is not your work, let the tank take it
Once again, not your business
Seriously are you going back with this build? When then use ghost!
Mana is not your priority...its your sword

Some recomendations

-Well, having some kills is not difficult with any yi build because of his natural attack speed and easy handling. The difference between one Yi and another is its speed to grow and become stronger than the others. This is what this guide offers, a guide that can give you some multi-kills and a long killing spree.
Reach the top faster, get some kills to get feeded and you will be unstoppable when you get your 5th item.

-I strongly recommend to play solo mid in 5 vs 5 games or solo (top or bot) in 3 vs 3 in order to reach level 6 as fast as possible. After that, you can change lines if needed.

-In 5 vs 5 games mid is almost always covered by a ranged champion. Don desperate. Buy mana potions and just stand out of range while you make some alpha strikes. You will gain the same experience your opponent is gaining. When i play mid yi, i normally get FIRST BLOOD because of my alpha strike that take me right next to the range carry of the other team that cant do a thing against me and my 25 armor penetration.
