1. Introduction

Howdy Ho summoners,

I'm Rick "Rickkyy" W. and currently I'm living in The Netherlands. The reason why I created this guide is because I carried various accounts to a reasonable elo after people got stuck at 600/700 elo. After some people asked me how Brand should be played, and what the best build would be for this elo I came up with the idea to create this guide.

Some people might not like my playing style, and some people do not like my build but its the way I love to play him. This guide allows you to escape elo hell IF you practice it quite often.

2. Runes

Right so lets start with our runepage. Obviously runes makes it a lot easier to last-hit your minions and it gives you a advantage in lane. I always run the following runes on Brand when I'm playing solo-mid:

Marks: Greater Mark of Insight. (x9)
+8.5 Magic Penetration: I'm pretty sure that every AP in mid-lane will be running this marks. You'll be starting of with Boots and 3 Pots which give you absolutely no Magic Pen. at all. Therefore you're running those Marks in order to gain more damage at the early game without having your boots ready yet.

Seals: Greater Seal of Clarity. (x9)
+11 Mana Regen /5 at level 18: Yes, you need mana and you will need it a lot. Brands damage comes mostly from his W which is very strong ability if placed and times well. Unfortunately this ability is a skill shot and can be missed if you got a decent opponent in lane. Therefore I run Mana Regen runes on Brand. This does not mean that you are able to spam your W around it just gives you the opportunity to harass and eventually kill your opponent in lane

Greater Glyph of Potency. (x9)
As we didn't get any ability power runes in our Marks and Seals you'll take them at your glyphs. You need Magic Resist as well but as you've seen at our masteries we got some Magic Resist in there which allows us to take other glyphs. Together with your masteries and your Quintessences you'll have 30AP to start the game with, which is quite normal for the most AP players

Greater Quintessence of Potency (x3)
You're running 3 Ability Power quintessences which gives you a lot of early burst damage, especially when playing Brand.
