I don't think it's totally useless, but there are for sure better items. I just think it's better than Zhonya's if you're getting focused, because it offers (basically) twice as much armor and doesn't need to be activated. Armor will last the whole fight, not just 2 seconds. CDR is always nice, too.

I tried out rushing the boots and then the Rabadon's right away. I did have some problems with mana that I don't have as often with Lich Bane, but the damage was great. Unfortunately, I lost, because my team enjoyed focusing on Volibear. I'll post the pic soon.

Overall good, but I don't like the item build at all.
Myself, I play Brand quite a lot.
I dont find Lich Bane that useful at all for Brand, it can be replaced by so many better items.
Sorcerers boot should be picked quite early, with rabandons deathcap.
Rod of Ages could also be picked a lot since the earlier you take it, the better it is.
Morello's evil tome is good for it's cooldown reduction, but it's not that useful alone. Brand is a burst champion, so you just go in teamfights, use all your skills and then back off. It could be replaced for example with Rylai's or void staff, since they're most likely going to buy at least some magic resistance when Brand is playing.
Aint going to vote against or for.
Also Frozen Heart is quite useless, but I see your point there.

Good start, just 2 complains: eraly Lich Bane and late RoA. Switch them around and you have a perfect build.

Good start, everything is explained thoroughly. However your build has one major flaw, rushing Lich Bane. You should get deathcap before you even consider building Lich Bane. The point of carries is to deal damage, not tanking it.
