Will check on your statements once I get around doing some ranked play. So far, this has been working out reasonably well for me =D. Thanks!

Oh, of course, Last Whisper is a MUST-GET somewhere after Banshee's Veil.

Sorry for my bloody-mindedness, but with snowball items you won't be getting much further in ranked play. To be honest, for most AD carries(including Caitlyn), the most common setup is Boots, Infinity Edge, Phantom Dancer, Banshee's Veil/Quicksilver Sash(For Mordekaiser).

You may need Bloodthirster against carry rapers like Nocturne, Udyr, Jax and you may need Black Cleaver against high armor enemies like Udyr, Jarvan, Rammus, Malphite.

/agree that TriForce is unnecessary and red buff works fine.
However....
DON'T GET GHOSTBLADE ON RANGED CARRIES NONONONO!!!! The passive on GB is designed for melee DPS. It's like 1/2 as effective on a ranged DPS. If you want, you can get the brutalizer and sell it late game. I don't find it necessary though.

well the way i play cait they're dead in like 3 shots anyways :P so the activate is only for towers (which a good sum of people use it for anyways) yes it is less effective on champs but i don't activate it unless i really need to :P

Infinity Edge won't help your Trinity Force's passive, unless it is for critting. Trinity Force deals %150 of your BASE(without items, buffs, runes, masteries, auras) attack damage upon casting a spell. As far as I know, Caitlyn has no spammable spells. That is why Trinity Force is a waste, you won't be using its passive at all.

I have reworked the guide extensively thanks to your comments Baxxie, my most sincere thanks. Hope you find it suiting!

Trinity Force won't work on Caitlyn, sorry. You need attack damage on attack damage carries.

hmmmmmm... i do agree with this guide on having crit (which your head shot does crit) and all but i think trinity is a HUGE waste of gold on cait (although she can farm for it) if you want a slow get the red buff! also, ever thought about getting ghost blade? by far my favorite item to get on cait! gives you crit, AD, armor pen, cooldown reduction, and of course the activate that gives you AS and MS. Just some suggestions for you
