Well screw guys who down vote without comment, I will up vote you just to fix that although I highly disagree with most of this guide.

Thanks I appreciate it. I'll try to address some of your concerns. Although I'd love you to give this a try, and see what you think.

Cassio and Sona's ulti are not to be compared, their range and style of shooting is different and Cassio has slow and stun, along with FAR more DMG in her ulti than Sona.

There ults are very different in damage, but their ranges are pretty similar. Sona's is a 1000 range rectangle and Cass' is an 850 range cone. Sona's does 350 Base Damage and scales at .8 times AP. Cass' does 450 Base and scales at .6 AP. You usually see more AP on a Cass, but the damages end up pretty similar.

Their use though is extremely similar in my experience. Setting up team fights to win, either through baiting or prepping for another teammates combo ult. The biggest difference to the two in my experience is that Sona's Crescendo makes people dance which is unaffected by Tenacity items whereas Stuns and Slows are lowered by Tenacity. This makes Cassiopeia's much less powerful, and getting the stun takes more effort than Sona's point and click. You need them facing you.

Cassio deals more damage than Ryze (usually) and he has his combo and waits 2-3 sec cooldown while Cassio is constant damage, so I don't see comparison.

Cassio's Q definitely does more damage against multiple opponents when Ryze' ult is down, but one person to one person they're really close. They're both designed to be DPS mages instead of burst mages, and both designed to do AOE in team fights.. In prolonged team fights Ryze has the advantage of being tankier and having CC on a shorter cooldown.

When do you have time to put in a sheen hit? Or Lich Bane, as Cassio you are supposed to constantly spam your abilities I just don't find time to add extra hits.

That's like asking when Evelynn has time to auto-attack. They both spam near constantly Hate Spikes and Twin Fangs have similar CD's and damage. Both champs proc Sheen constantly. The character is auto-attacking in those very short seconds between hits. Try it, and you'll see it happening.

2 RoA? One is alright if it works for you, but two..you just don't have the time to charge that up.

The RoA's base stats are worth it enough. It's the only item increasing HP and AP without also paying for an additional effect. If you get it before 30 which I almost always do, it's maxed by 45 which is not so atypical for a game to go on to.

Rabadon is gotten WAY too late.

After Rabadon's nerf in patch .121, I find using it as Riot intended as a late game bump is more important than rushing it. The extra effect of the Rabadon's just doesn't give enough AP unless you've got quite a bit of AP already stored up for it to maximize. Rushing it first gives you 183 AP, no survivability, and you've just built an item that has no minor parts. I couldn't consider getting it without 300 AP at least. Going from 300 to 550 is going to cause your enemies to make teamfight mistakes instead of knowing the whole time around how much damage you're scaling over time.

My suggestion is for you to practice positioning with Cassio, maybe try reading my guide and getting some tips, once you position better you will be able to focus on high constanat DPS Cassiopeia deals instead of going overly defensive.

My suggestions.

I have played cassio forever. I have an expired Cass guide on this site from the first week she was out. I definitely suggested to just build her for raw damage and fast. I thought those who didn't do as good as me were just worse players and couldn't hack a mega super dps. I originally suggested a Mejai's and Zhonya's Ring (The old Rabadon's) to be rushed. After I saw more people doing well with bunches of Hextech Revolvers, I tried it, and thought man this is way easier. So I suggested building as much spellvamp as possible. Then they changed the scaling on Q to make that her strongest instead of twin fangs, and I stopped playing her as often and archived my guide since she no longer played like a strange AP Urgot.

This works for me. I think it'll work for most people more often. I don't like it when champs feel hyper binary. I work hard to make guides that make champs more successful more often. I've got nothing against those people who play maximum damage and are successful with that, but I really don't think that on the whole League of Legends builds of that type are as successful for the majority of players. People who are good enough to build raw damage don't really need guides. From what I've seen most of them don't build raw damage anyway.
