Thank you for your opinion. Feedback is always of great value. This guide is still unfinished because I wrote it in one morning. You are right, the topic about 4-0-1 is mostly about getting an early head start, which is always a good road to victory. If you haven't tried at least once the 4-0-1 formation at the beginning of the game, then I urge you to try it until you lose the early game to something else than another 4-0-1 team. Yes, there is a best way to start the game (that's how metagames are born). Strategies are identified and defined. No, it is not chaotic, things are there static and champions are moving toward predictable places and taking predictable roads. And from the BASIC formations (3-1-1, 1-2-2, etc...) without doubt, 4-0-1 is the best by far. Yes, it is the crucial opening you don't see out of the BASIC formations.
By no means this should imply that the 4-0-1 formation cannot be countered, during the conclusion I gave an example of a more advanced start that truly isn't worth doing at this stage of the metagame. Without wanting to repeat myself too much, what I state is once again, that 4-0-1 is much much better than 3-0-1, 1-2-2 and any of other BASIC formations. If done right, it will beat them all at the early game.

I don't agree with this guide. It focuses almost exclusively on early-game Dominion, which I find to be chaotic and uncertain. I don't believe that there is a panacea that allows one to always win a game based on how they open, and while a strong opening is crucial, I don't see this as that crucial strong opening.

I have gone up against a 4-0-1 open with a standard 1-2-2, with me going bot with Riven. This is my most recent game, and if you refer to my guide on playing Riven in Dominion, you can see how that went. We crushed the opponent team. They got top, but paid for it with a terrible bot, which we grabbed and held for more than half the game. They quickly lost top afterwards after a little wearing down, and went under. They did indeed overtake us throughout the middle and later parts of the game. But by the end, they simply couldn't sustain themselves. They moved about in big groups that were easy to tear into with my AoE attacks and our MF's ult, and their 4-0-1 was of no avail to them.

So I disagree with almost everything you've written here except what's written under "More Stuff". 4-0-1 is not a panacea, and bot is not a trap. Promote isn't that useful of a spell unless you're a pusher, and in later parts of the game, is useless altogether when minions can be easy to ignore. Garrison is a useful spell for Heimy and several other characters, but not my personal choice.

I don't find this to be a general guideline to Dominion, but rather a tactic to push a specific tactic to Dominion that doesn't even work very well. It may work for you, and I'd like to see the proof. But in my opinion, I can't see it working as well as you say it does.
