Well how did you play him? Did you go bot lane or top? Middle? The current meta cancels out the chance of GP carrying bot lane because of the ranged harass he gets from the enemy team's ADC and support. He cannot do much below because of this, but he can still have other positions elsewhere.

You can play GP multiple ways. I play him as a secondary ADC that comes in close to deal heavy damage while my ADC finishes them off. It also has to do with skill level and how long you have been doing it. If all else fails you can go back to your critplank. I don't think that you are an idiot for playing critplank, but I just don't like the style of it and the low sustain. You support from afar and serve as more of a ranged harass instead of a close ranged high damage dealing distraction. I tried to keep it true to his nature, he is a melee carry afterall.

I recommend top, but mid lane is also acceptable.
I do ask of you to consider your match ups before you claim a lane for yourself though. Depending on their CC and burst, you may or may not live early on. This applies to both critplank and mine, but I offer a little more harass and sustain without having to leave the lane.

Thanks for dropping a comment, but I would like a more in depth response instead of a simple statement that could have been out of pure lack of experience.

Masteries are bad, unfinished.

Aye there is room for improvement. I wanted to post the guide with a decent chunk of detail and believe me I will be revising and editing it for future and present users. I wish you gave me more than one sentence to work with. Thank you anyway. I'll explain the reason for everything I used as I find time to update this.
